How a near pristine iPhone with recordings & photos of Thin Man - long believed to be lost forever - came to rest in the dry and cool wine cellar of Bing Crosby's home near San Francisco is not a mystery to those who knew him. Crosby loved underground music. Sure, the world saw him sing a holiday classic with space-glam freak, David Bowie, but few really knew how much of a fan Crosby was. The discovery of the iPhone last December was quite a shock to the music world. For years there had been talk circulating online & in record stores of a supposed album of new Thin Man songs all recorded on an iPhone four track application, but few had actually heard them. The discovery at Mr. Crosby's home finally decided the long debate, and then some. Along with the "lost" iPhone album, there were many live tracks, demos and the like. Three songs - "Cold", Escape" and "I'm Gonna Get Someone", all live at the Late Summer Club (year unknown), are the first to be released in what is sure to be a parade of releases in the upcoming year. The songs are already available on the Thin Man Myspace page. Apparently, all of the found music has been going through intensive sound restoration, in the hands of long time studio engineer and enigmatic figure in his own right - Sir Stanley Chivers. As of press time, Sir Stanley could not be reached directly, but a mutual party quoted Sir Stanley's thoughts on the recordings as, "Fantastic", "What on earth?", and "It's not totally inconceivable".
