After 35 years of providing the world with reggae music, Third World continues to be one of the most recognized reggae groups out of Jamaica. Popularly know as “The Reggae Ambassadors”, Third World continues to travel the world to satisfy the many fans that enjoy their brand of music.
Third World is more than just one of the top Reggae bands of all time, it is an institution. An institution that stands for producing and performing music that continues to push the cutting edge of music worldwide, while holding firm to the cultural and ancestral roots of its members. It is an institution whose themes are positive, progressive and internationally relevant.
Formed in 1973, Third World is committed to the excellence of reggae music by
combining Jamaican Reggae and Folk music with all strains of African Rhythms,
American Pop, Rhythm & Blues, Rap and Classical music. Third World is one of the longest running and most diverse bands Jamaica has ever produced.
Born out of a drive to write and perform original material incorporating reggae,
rock and funk, and a desire to tour and take music to a wider audience, this group, Third World, was conceived. Having had some band member changes over the years, Third World continues to perform with 6 members, with three of the original core members at the forefront.
Third World continues to perform in all corners of the world, to make music with new albums always being released, and to give back to the community by adapting and supporting life saving charities like:
“The Jamaican Children’s Heart Fund Inc.”
