Forming in the wake of 2006 originally as a sextet, This Dying Hour is a metal band from High Wycombe, Bucks, drawing on influences from a much wider musical scope than you might expect; producing heavy, rhythmically gripping anthems with enough melodic twists and technical turns to kick you well off balance.
In the Autumn of 2007, This Dying Hour released their debut EP 'Longest Memory from the Shortest Life'. Produced by Nick Hemingway @ Philia Studios. This was followed by a busier touring schedule and by the end of Spring 08 the band parted ways with their drummer and guitarist. This was an obvious major set back for the band as plans for the follow up EP were already in the pipeline. Needless to say, after months of searching a new drummer was found and the band carried on writing however a replacement guitarist wasn't and therefore the carrying on as a quintet.
Through natural progression the dynamics of the band changed and it was decided to take time out focusing on writing new songs, not playing many shows.
At the start of the New Year 09, This Dying Hour released two new demos. The pace started picking up and the band were back playing up and down the country again however there were evident troubles growing internally and although the band became more productive the morale internally was suffering to the point that by the summer This Dying Hour were on the brink of a break up. After many rehearsals resulting in arguments instead of songs and productivity completely diminished, founding members Ash, Nat & Sean decided to part ways with their former drummer and vocalist. With all the bad news afoot and a tour having to be canceled it was decided that the remaining three members take a small holiday apart enjoy what was left of the Summer and return refreshed with the search on for a new drummer and vocalist.
After a rigorous audition process, what was left of the band managed to stumble across new members pretty much by accident but needless to say, This Dying Hour is back and ready to carve a wound in what is left of UK metal.
