That issue of the Avengers when you find out Electra is a Skrull and you are LITERALLY FREAKING OUT – in music form.
Hiya. This Fiction is basically no more, as Dave moved to Bath :-(. I'm still playing the odd song in my acoustic sets, but on the whole I've put my efforts into a new band, here. Anyway, beneath is the original blurb for This Fiction. Peace.
Alright? This Fiction is what I've wanted to put together for god knows how long: an attempt to make the music I'm missing when I review other band's CDs, and something that just sounds really, really me.
So here we go: in the next little while there'll be more tracks appearing from a forthcoming EP: they're in the vein of Poolside (Eighteen is a bit of an anomally,) and I suspect you'll like them.
I have a hell of a live band behind me (pictures up this week!) and as soon as the EP is done we'll be getting our touring heads in gear and rocking your collective faces. For the record, *this* record (Takes One To No-One) has been written as a kind of melting pot of the heroes I spent my teenage years and and onwards listening to: Simon Neil, Billy Corgan, Max Bemis, Matt Pryor and Walter Schreifels. I hope I even get close to a 20th of how they've made me feel, and I hope my music makes ya feel like you're being hugged. Or something to that effect.
If you have time, go check out the marvelous man who's producing the whole record for me here! The boy is a fucking genius I tells ya!
Love,
R
