Sounds Like
a challenging collision of honey-sweet post-punk, black-mountain prog, loping alt-country, distortion-blitzed dream-pop hardcore
This, Is A Virtue , is an indie/hardcore/screamo band that hails from the Southeast portion of Missouri known as the "Bootheel". Cape Girardeau is the basis of where the band lives and plays. As a band coming from this area we are forced to hear alot of different styles of music, consisting of rock, rap, metal, pop, and lots of country. We strived to be nothing like the "Norm" of this area, and took the inituative to make something different in the area.
Alot of the our influeneces are not from these styles, but from the styles that can be heard in the greater St. Louis area, and all over the U.S. as well. These styles contain many of the sub-genres of rock and metal such as hardcore, screamo, emo, indie, and post-hardcore.
The live show we bring is full of energy and movement. We play to express our passions onstage. Also the pain, free spirit, and the agression that comes with that. We play to move the crowd as well, so if you are able to attend one of our shows be prepared.
In a nutshell, we are just 5 guys who like to play music. Some of us from prior bands, and some not. We are all from a rock/metal background and are just here to LIVE, PLAY, and ENJOY music.
We have posted our entire new EP, "Forever We Will Sleep", for you all to listen to. If you have time please check it out and let us know what you think. We'd really like some feedback. Thanks.
you know,
since TIAV apparently meant so much to so many people,
the only logical thing to do,
is to get back together,
i mean, even though i'm no longer in the m-o,
the best news from back home,
would be knowing that THIS, IS A VIRTUE were once again rocking faces off of everyone in the bootheel,
then................eventually, the world,
and from that,
would come the cover of a.p.,
and from then on out,
no one would think of nelly,
or even the cardinals,
when missouri came to mind,
they'd be thinking of This, Is A-motherfucking-VIRTUE
i think my favorite show was the second one i went to at the manhattan room,
i had seen you guys there once before,
so, i had an idea of what to expect,
but that second show was amazing,
the place was pretty much packed,
the lights were off and the pit was going nuts,
the energy was amazing,
everyone of you were just going off,
i walked away from the pit with a black eye,
and couldn't be any more stoked
but it was that show,
and you guys,
that made me realize what a local band is about,
it's about the passion for music and connecting with the fans,
i didn't get that from any other semo band,
or any that i've seen down in ga
gee I dont really know what my favorite show was, but you guys were always awesome, Wish you could've stayed together! It was always a blast to watch you guys, especially john and lucas!love you guys!
you know,
i'd love to be there for the show,
to see you guys again and to see falcon drive for the first time,
but, i can't, i have to be up in chicago getting my wife,
yeah..............i'm asking my girlfriend to marry me,
i think that's a bit more important,
but take some video and post that shit
so,
lucas told me about the second final show,
and i'm gonna be in mo around the time,
but don't know if i'm gonna be able to make it,
but i know it's gonna be an awsome show,
and whether i'm there or not,
i know you'll keep it hXc,
word

man that show was AWSOME! i wish there was one more, but all great things come to and end or something like that. o yeah randy sucks at playing the drums. i could have done better without practicing. but josh is good at playing the guitar, and lucas the one who is going to warp those little fragile minds of kids is a good singer. well it was great, thanks for a year of crazy concerts, 2 demos, and a shirt. and other things that didnt sell.
i've had a couple of you say,
how you think i'm tiav's biggest fan,
so,
do your biggest fan a favor,
come to ga for a show before you all break up,
i've got plenty of venue info,
you could have yourself a little ga tour,
but yeah,
that's a good idea,
i do believe
