Art Whino joins forces with Tagür Footwear to present Inked Souls, an exhibition featuring customized sneakers and fine art by 35 local, national and international leaders in the Pop Surrealism/Urban Contemporary art movement. Each featured artist will customize one pair of AKA Blank Tagür sneakers along with one painting on canvas.
Black Cats Resident DJ Lil'e will be spinning the night away.
SATURDAY, OCT. 6TH As some of you may know, Jeremy suffered a pretty nasty accident on his bike last week. He smashed in his shoulder and got pretty bad headwound...bloody, messy, debilitating. Well, he's getting better and was finally able to work last night...but the spill he took couldn't have come at a better time because he will be showing a new series of works on Saturday called "HEADWOUNDS". Not the band. These are graphic, emotional paintings and unlike anything he's done before.
The opening reception will be from 7-9pm at Flux Studios. 1821 N. Charles St. Come out, check Jeremy's new work and tell him to watch for fallen trees on bicycle paths!
SAT/SUN OCT. 13TH-14TH We've all been hearing about it...A LOT...Peter Goode's BLACK METAL FAST FOOD FIGHT is finally coming whether we're ready or not and Flux Studios is HELLBENT happy to be one of the BMFFF venues along with the Lo-Fi Social Club, to host this monumental musical and art event.
This crazy event will feature 40 artists, 14 bands, 5 djs...and probably lots of retarded-looking black metal make-up...gotta love it! Think Wayne Mutant on thorazine...or something like that. Everything starts early and ends late!
SATURDAY, OCT. 20TH The City Paper is doing a zombie pub crawl and I am designing the official t-shirt which features the awesome beauty of Wilma Martinez...as a zombie! Come to the Zombie Walk registration at Red Maple located at: 930 N. Charles St. and get your must have t-shirt while supplies last!
