THE STORY SO FAR...
Hailing from the madly chaotic yet ironically joyful streets of Bogota comes Misschief.
Combining a love for headbang inducing riffs to a deep appreciation for mellancholy-laden
melodies, the band has produced a sound that hits hard, but with a strong melodic twist.
Having been high school mates, and jammed on occasions in the early 90's, the year 2005 put
drummer J.Watts and guitarist C.Bevan back in their hometown of Bogota after a 9 year hiatus.
Even though they both had their own musical experiences during this time, they knew that their
extreme passion for heavy sounds would result in the perfect collaboration to start a band
that could finally get their rock out.
Work on the demo began soon after bassist and local DJ, Waffer, joined and shaped the
band's original lineup. At this point it was clear that something good was brewing,
but a talented singer was still to be found...enter Fiona Horsey.
After shooting several Horror B-movies in Europe, English actress Fiona Horsey
moved to Colombia in 2004 to seek out a carreer in entertainment.
At this point, the three knew that a female singer would best fit the bill, and through pure
coincidence, the band met an anxious artist who was eager for a chance to let her voice out.
To this date, she has also managed to strike a deal with local TV giant,Caracol TV,
and currently acts in one of the station's prime time soap opera's.
THE DEMO - "SPANKING THE MANATEE"
Taking influence from genres such as metal, funk, and prog rock, "Spanking The Manatee"
is the culmination of two and a half years of searching for ways to blend their tastes into
a single sounding unit. With a reformed lineup that includes new bassist Billy.B and new guitar partner A.Barón,
both from Minnus fame, and the determination to get on-stage, this is the year Misschief will
finally get their act straight.
It's the band's first effort, and completely self produced, so it is not without its faults.
While it shows a lot of promise, they can't wait to see where the journey will take them.

LA HISTORIA HASTA EL MOMENTO...
Desde las dementes y caóticas, aunque irónicamente alegres calles de Bogotá, llega Misschief. Combinando el amor por riffs que llevan a cabecear, con una gran apreciación a melodías con rasgos melancólicos, la banda ha logrado producir un sonido que pega fuerte, pero con un elemento melódico protagonista.
Habiendo comenzado su amistad en la época del colegio, y tocado ocasionalmente en bandas a la entrada de los 90', y después de haber tenido interesantes experiencias durante este tiempo, siempre supieron que su extrema pasión por sonidos fuertes algún día los juntaría en una banda que finalmente les permitiría sacar su rock. En el año 2005 el baterista J.Watts y el guitarrista C.Bevan de nuevo en su ciudad natal de Bogota, despues de 9 años de ausencia, forman Misschief.
El trabajo en el demo comenzó justo a la entrada del bajista y DJ local, Waffer, y se plasmo la alineación inicial. En este punto era claro que algo bueno se estaba armando, pero aun faltaba la inclusión de una voz talentosa. Y llego Fiona Horsey. Después de filmar unas cuantas películas de Horror tipo B en Europa, la actriz inglesa viajo a Colombia en el 2004 en busca de una carrera en el mundo del entretenimiento (por que Colombia?...solo el putas sabe). Los tres músicos sabían que una voz femenina seria ideal para el proyecto, y por coincidencia, la banda conoció a la artista que ansiosamente esperaba la oportunidad para dar a oír su voz. A la fecha, Fiona ya ha logrado cerrar un contrato con la gigante cadena de television local CaracolTV, y actualmente actúa en una de las novelas estelares del canal.
EL DEMO - "SPANKING THE MANATEE"
Tomando influencia de géneros como el metal, funk, y rock progresivo, "SPANKING THE MANATEE" es la culminación de dos años y medio de una búsqueda por lograr fusionar una amplia gama de gustos, y convertirlos en un sonido original. Con una alineación renovada que hoy incluye al bajista Billy B y a su compañero guitarrista A.Barón de la banda local Minnus, y la convicción por montarse en escena, este parecería ser el año en que Misschief finalmente organizará su acto. Este es el primer esfuerzo de la banda, y fue completamente producido por ellos, así que los errores no son ajenos a la producción final. Sin embargo ya se dio el primer paso, y la banda no deja de cuestionarse en donde terminará este viaje.
"Hay algunas canciones aquí que nos gustan bastante...pero sabemos que este, es tan solo el fin del principio..." Comentaron el baterista J.Watts y el guitarrista C.Bevan antes de brindarse un trago de cerveza.
hola misschief ! qué tal? yo aquí escribiendo todo el día este mismo saludo a todos mis friends. ya hasta las teclas que uso en este mismo estúpido e insípido recadito están como los jeans que usa mi papá para bañar al perro. ojalá tuviera algo más deinspiración. pero te aseguro que si llega la usaré para una rola, no para andar bombardeando myspace con saludos desnutridos. ayós! besitos!
