Okay, hands down, this is one of the funniest things I have EVER seen in my life - set to one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Enjoy...
One of the best commercials ever!!
The other best commercial ever!
My interests are...singing, drawing and painting, decorating (eclectic cottage style, Shabby Chic, IKEA), animals, makeup, graphic design, the Jumble, psychic/supernatural stuff, reading, writing, grammar - yes, it's fun.
I have three cats and three dogs - they're my babies. I'm with the most wonderful guy who reminds me every day that real love does exist; he is always sweet to me and his patience is seemingly endless. I love kids, and all I ever really wanted to be was a mom...I hope I can be half as good at it as mine was. But I am a busy mom to my pets and a very proud aunt!
I have a severe addiction to buying makeup. It's like crack.
My relationship with God is important to me. My views on certain spiritual things have changed somewhat through my life experiences and just over time, but that doesn't mean I have let go of him.
Two of my biggest wishes for the world are for every girl and woman to be happy with herself and feel pretty, strong, confident, and capable and for all animals to be safe and loved. It makes me mad when people say, "You can't save them all." No, I can't, but I can do my part and save one or a few. Evil happens when good people do nothing.

Heroes
I really admire people who have gone through adversity but never lost hope and kept going and also people who are trying to make a positive impact on those around them. Lucas Silveira from The Cliks is a great example of both. I also admire any strong woman who is not afraid to speak her mind and have opinions. My bestest friend of over 20 years is also my hero because she has taught me a lot about being content and loving myself for who I am and because she's just plain awesome. At the risk of sounding like I'm full of myself, I'd have to say I'm somewhat of my own hero...at only 28, I've already survived a divorce...I've gone through several deaths of my pets and, of course, my mom...I won't say it's ever easy, and I don't want to make it out like I'm just so strong and tough. I couldn't have made it without God and so many people surrounding me who love me. But I could easily have shut down, and there were times when I wanted to...but I refuse to.
I have some very strong opinions about smoking. If you watched your mom waste away from cancer far too young and knew it could have been prevented, you'd have some strong opinions about it too. I don't buy that crap that everyone has to die of something. Don't put the people you love through that. If you smoke, please do whatever it takes to quit. If you can't do it for yourself, do it for the people you would be leaving behind.
My mom passed away on Valentine's Day 2005 from lung cancer. I can't even begin to describe the pain I constantly feel. I'm only just starting to feel like I have some kind of hope again. What else can I say...it seems that lately the best way to describe myself is to talk about who I am now that I have lost her...but I also know that her unconditional love for me has and always will shape me even more than my grief.

So if you knew about factory farms what I know about factory farms...it would make it pretty hard for you to eat meat anymore too. The animals undergo needless pain and suffering, not to mention the resulting environmental damage. Join me in saving 100 animals a year by not eating meat. For me, this is less about the moral issue of eating meat and more about not supporting an industry of cruelty.

By working with the specific conditions in front of you, you will begin to discover things about yourself that will give you clues to the next step. Your job will be to look, listen, feel, choose, and act. -Carol Adrienne

By the same token, we can experience joy because we have known sadness.

It's so curious: one can resist tears and 'behave' very well in the hardest hours of grief. But then someone makes you a friendly sign behind a window, or one notices that a flower that was in bud only yesterday has suddenly blossomed, or a letter slips from a drawer... and everything collapses. - Colette

I am responsible. Although I may not be able to prevent the worst from happening, I am responsible for my attitude toward the inevitable misfortunes that darken life. Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have – life itself. - Walter Anderson
My favorite poem:
..Solace..
by Dorothy Parker
There was a rose that faded young;
I saw its shattered beauty hung
Upon a broken stem.
I heard them say, "What need to care
With roses budding everywhere?"
I did not answer them.
There was a bird brought down to die;
They said, "A hundred fill the sky-
What reason to be sad?"
There was a girl whose lover fled;
I did not wait the while they said,
"There's many another lad."
My pirate name is:
Calico Jenny Flint
Often indecisive, you can't even choose a favorite color. You're apt to follow wherever the wind blows you, just like Calico Jack Rackham, your namesake. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!
You don't apologize for anything. And why would you? You've had to battle through too many tough times to worry about what other people think of you. That's why you don't mind attention: whether it's having the cutest outfit at the party or the biggest singing voice on Idol. You never forget what matters most to you, though, and that's your loved ones. If you feel like you're not getting the respect you deserve, you can - and will - stand up for yourself. Just remember to choose your battles and save your energy for the things you truly care about.
Who I'd like to meet: Other "motherless daughters" and people with similar interests as mine. Rap Cat. My future daughter someday. So far, the really cool famous people I've met are Joy Williams, Clay Crosse, Jaci Velasquez, Jimmy Wayne, The Wreckers, Aslyn, and Jen Foster. And Jessica Dunnagan, because she's going to be HUUUUUUUUGE someday soon. :) Oh, yeah, I also met the voice of Space Ghost (George Lowe).
I would give anything to be reunited with Lauren Maney...I've never forgotten you and will find you someday. I promise.
Holy crap! Who are those little kids? LOL! Those were good times. I loved hanging out with you in art class. You should email me copies of the murals; I don't think I have pics of those. We can't call Mrs Chamlee by her first name...=P Did she have more kids after the first one we knew about? That's so cool. She was a great teacher!
Yeah, I ran into Jennifer Bell at Lenox one day and caught up with her on facebook. She joked about how she was putting her GA Tech degree to good use. =P It's pretty neat seeing her on tv. She's got an adorable little son, too!
