THE HELL FIRE CLUB (and their stuff)

Arthur-Roc n' Socs Drum Throne-Ian Paice Snare->Yamaha Drums->Ziljdian and Sabain Cymbals-Gutties-Tama Iron Cobra Pedal.
"More cowbell".

McCullough-Thunderbird(s are go), Gremlin Overdrive from Owen Electronics, microKORG, sampled dulcimer from 1884, various boxes o' trix
"This one goes BEEEEEP!"

Garrett-Fender Mustang-ProCo Turbo RAT-Micro Muff- Digitech Grunge-RAK Delay-Fender Tweed.
'NEVER cross the riffs'.

Influences
  • Buckminster Fuller paints the room silver so there are no shodows.
  • Robert Johnson - the Djinns where the two roads cross need a sacrifice, hunted by Diana's hounds and poisoned by a normal jealous human.
  • A red rubber glove floating in the flotsam of the river.
  • Sonic Youth's idiot savant guitars.
  • Jan Svankmajer's dissected dolls boiling in pot of fizzing soap and strangled by cardboard plants.
  • John Cale's violin drone like a plume of blood through water.
  • Sexually gratutious accounts of the occult, and trashy, illustraited, real murder books.
  • Imagining the lives of packs of little plastic hornby train people.
  • A giant evil head inside an average head.
  • Head - a new dimension in madness - 'you don't understand mannn, this is my third band!'
  • Chris Marker shows memory as a set of stills that speed up to moving at moments of emotional intensity
  • Dumb freudian symbolism
  • Davy Graham, Bert Jansc, John Renbourn, Leadbelly and other folk guitar players
  • Van Gogh painted green like a monster warped from self loathing and jealousy, and vanity - painting himself
  • Steve Albini's downtuned axe
  • Fucking about with effects pedals and stuff
  • Wang Wei - 'This screen of yours unfolded, against that wild courtyard, can show you hills and springs, uncontrived with paint.
  • Fatalistic anti heros from folk like Beckett, Dostoyevsky, kafka.
  • On a rabbit hair in a glass case grows the first man made snow crystal.
  • Diamond encrusted skulls, skyscrapers, little plastic skeletons, dream sequences other stuff like that.
Sounds LikeHard, noisy, rock

   About Hell Fire Club

From a place in a river valley near a volcano called Slemish where revolutionary armies camped in 1798 on the fringe of a forest supposedly haunted by mesolithic ghosts, we used to cycle up there as kids, now we rock out angrily and fuck about with fuzz pedals and stuff in a town called Belfast:

Described as "somewhere between Sonic Youth and Jonny Cash" by AU and by Francis Jones as "Combining Backwoods Blues and raucous Rock and Roll to create a brilliantly unwholesome, down and dirty cacophony. On this evidence the Devil really has got the best tunes". We've been compared to the Archie Bronson Outfit, Robert Johnson, Kyuss, Clutch, Slint, Steve Albini, the Black Keys, and other stuff like that, and we've shared stages with Black Rebel Motorcyle Club and Howlin Rain.

FOR SALE - Used USB Keys
Extended play, produced by Ben McAuley, £5, independent, very limited edition, extremely noizy, unimaginabily heavy, USB Key release.

(Beached, Evil Head , Callaghan, 4)
(Dead Man Funk , Polanski, Suicide Note, Red Rum)

Hello everyone,

Thank you for the support. It means a great deal - the past few months have been amazing. Great reviews, great shows up and down the country, airplay and interviews with Kerrang! Radio & Total Rock Radio, even a show at Alexandra Palace for Freestyle Festival has been confirmed.

Alexandra Palace will bring an end to our first major UK Tour. The tour leads up to the official release of our first EP proper, 'Guerilla'. This will be available everywhere on November 2nd.

If you're not too familiar with us yet, there are some reviews below and you can pick up some free downloads from our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/NIXA/8798900727).

Here are the dates (more to be confirmed).

See you out there x

"NIXA possess a quality that sets them apart from other front runners on the alt/rock scene with perfect dynamics and incredible song craft. They bounce between gentle and aggressive in a single beat, tied with soaring harmonies and mesmerising stage presence. This band will find themselves being listened to by a wide audience, no doubts in both the alternative and commercial rock scenes"
TOTAL ROCK

"...done very, very well. Deep, powerful voice, BIG music and just the feeling that something very professional is happening -I don't mean in a clinical way, just in that way that, when you find out they're unsigned, it's a bit of a shock!"
XFM

"The absolute epiphany of my weekend was London based Nixa. Everytime I see this band, I fall in love a little bit more. Their performance was stunning and it was definitely the climax of the night as things petered off afterwards. Their Biffy Clyro-esque style, gorgeous vocal harm
