With the talented Mr Jesse Taylor, playing our version of Andy McKee's solo guitar piece "Ebon Coast":
Heavily influenced by and interested in improvisational, bluegrass, Irish, African, and minimalist music - always looking for friends, jam mates, and something to help challenge me musically. Also very interested in exploring more percussive attributes of the mandolin's sound in addition to the more obvious, melodic side...
Although much of what you may hear on the site is acoustic, I'm really interested in exploring ways of electrifying, expanding, and transforming the mandolin's traditional sound - the more recent posts have featured a bit the more of the electric, experimental, and ambient-mix stuff. I don't want to get trapped purely in the acoustic box (although it's a nice box). I'm a sucker for a good ambient groove, and lately I've been working on programming and editing drum loops for background of some of the stuff I've been doing. I hope you find it interesting...
I've also been toying with the idea of internet collaboration. Anyone up for it?
