'Take a ride' Dit nummer maakte van ThisOldDiesel een feit in het jaar 2006. De bandnaam lag al lang op muzikanten te wachten.
Binnen de Drentse music scene kwamen de muzikanten elkaar tegen en deelden hun muzikale intresses. Al snel bleek het te zijn dat de band niet de 'beruchte stempel' draagt. In verband met de breed georienteerde composities passeren de genres country, punk, rock, reggae, ska, folk en gospel de revue. Nieko Berkepies (bass) en Joost Dijkema (guitars/harmonica/vocals) kwamen uit de band SWiSS dat het jaar daarvoor een stop werd toegeroepen. Broers Arnout (guitar/vocals) en Sander Brinks guitar/vocals) komen uit het singer/songwriter duo Tangarine. Henk-Jan Klaver (drums) opent met TOD. Nadat ThisOldDiesel begin februari 2007 tijdens een RTV Drenthe programma mocht optreden begon het balletje echt te rollen. Zo staan zij met het nummer 'Take a Ride' op het bovengenoemde radio/tv-zender verzamelplaatje 'De Trektocht'.
Volgend seizoen spelen ze onder andere in het meest unieke bruincafe van Drenthe, Cafe De Amer in Amen.
Komend jaar zal de band bezig zijn met de voltooiing van de eerste cd en zullen er zoveel mogelijk shows gespeeld worden.

Op vrijdag 9 november komt onze debuutsingle Mary Jane uit op DRC Records en dat vieren we met een groot feest De Tempelier te Emmen! In de aanloop naar deze release hebben alvast het nummer Too Cool To Care, welke met nog een derde track ook op de single te horen zal zijn, als preview op onze vernieuwde myspace gezet! Check het nu het nog warm is!

Its well under way Ive had nearly 2000 hits this month more than Ive had on my space, its becoming a powerful promotional tool particularly in Scotland, as well as a very cool global community, its starting to pull as many world acts as Scottish actsand users now to, which is interesting, a lot of good stuff showing up.
