Sounds Like
You know that image of Atlas holding up the globe?
Well if Atlas was Michael McDonald and the globe was made out of Harry Nilsson, The Pixies, Dire Straits, The Carpenters, and the Alan Parsons Project, then it would kind of be a picture of what we sound like.
This Union Standard convened first in San Francisco (2001) as a string of duos comprising Mr. Frahm and alternately Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Ben Russo.
This Union Standard later reconvened (2002) as an acoustic four-piece with Mr.'s Sullivan and Frahm joined by Mr. Chris Carrico (of Aarktika) on bass guitar and Mr. Kevin Jensen on drum (later, drums). Three shows were played before the four winds scattered this edition.
This Union Standard once again reconvened (2003) with a new rhythm section made up of Mr. Paul Brown on drums and Mr. Dantona (of Madera Road) on bass. Ms. Nelson (of the Punk Rock Orchestra and Local Love Enforcement) joined at this time as well. Several shows were played before Mr. Brown left the band in 2004. Mr. Kitchen was recruited from sister-band Madera Road to take over drumming duties and the current ensemble has played several shows.
This Union Standard enjoy UFOs, ghosts, and ghost hobbies but still argue over the use of the serial comma.
