  • Bio

.. .. Rising from the ashes of past Connecticut bands in January of 2006, THIS YEARS ANTHEM was formed to create a musical aura of something, which could not only be heard, but felt. The band’s catchy, in your face and fast paced formula backed with pure emotion has proven to be a successful one. .... Despite a few changes to its line-up, THIS YEARS ANTHEM, made up of Joe Heafy, Mike Kytoski, Ron Gould, and Tom Lavery, wasted no time when it came to building a local following. Relentless touring of the Northeast, and opening spots for some of today’s biggest national acts (Fall Out Boy, Hellogoodbye and Silverstein just to name a few) let people know that THIS YEARS ANTHEM was not just any other local band, but a band to look out for in the near future..... In early 2006, after being a band for only a few short months, the guys locked themselves into Killingsworth Recording Studios, on Long Island. The band teamed up with acclaimed producers, Anthony Santonocito and Tomas Costanza (ex-Diffuser / A&R Hollywood Records), to record what would be their debut full-length record entitled, “Where the Future Meets the Past.” The 12-track album is filled with a whirlwind of emotion, intriguing hooks and resonant melodies, which the band credits to their own personal experiences. .... The band’s relentless do-it-yourself attitude proves to be the foundation for everything it does. With 3 self booked national tours under its belt, the band has gained a substantial amount fans, and has made even more friends in local bands and club owners around the country. The band has become living proof that in an industry of giants, the little guy can be heard..... Not skipping a beat in the spring of 2007 the band inked an album deal with Japanese record label In-n-Out Records. The band was another addition to their ever-growing roster, joining the ranks of fellow American bands, New Found Glory, Armor for Sleep, Hellogoodbye, and more. The album, “Where The Future Meets The Past,” was released on October 17th, featuring two exclusive acoustic bonus tracks. An album promotion tour overseas is currently in the works. .... With the long winter ahead of them, the guys have been preparing for the release of a new EP. The band has taken time off from its busy touring schedule to write a plethora of songs, seven of which will be selected for recording this winter. Look for the EP’s release, and the bands to return to the stage in early 2008. .............. .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. ..
