Since 2006, This Year's Tiger have been blazing a trail through the Houston music scene with their unique style of post-hardcore/ punk rock complete with searing melodies, fist-pumping anthems, and introspective, yet assertive lyrics. From the raspy, commanding vocals and distinctive guitar work of Justin Blumenstock to the reliably dynamic bass lines of Scott Johnson, the punchy guitar melodies of Jeff Hazen and the fluid, hard-hitting drumming of Jeff Jones, TYT never ceases to leave anyone who witnesses their performances unimpressed or unrewarded in their wake. With a six-song CD-EP (released in December of 2007) and a two-song 7" (released in April of 2009) under their belt, This Year's Tiger has a solid compendium of recorded material available to the public, but as with any prolific outfit, they are always writing in preparation for the next release. On top of their studio releases, TYT has shared the stage with many notable local and national acts as they are always consistently bringing their intensely energetic live shows to a venue near you. i had soooo much fun at the show last night! i forgot to tell y'all that the show was amazing! my friends really liked the show too, next time i will get a shirt and cd. I was alittle tipsy, i forgot to get a shirt!!!

I know.....I got to Fitz. around 9:30 and there was NO FUCKING PARKING!!!! I was waiting for a friend but she bailed out on me and I was like fuck it I will go by myself. Then I get up there and I couldn't park no where! I was pissed.
But I will be at the next one fo sho...I will get there ALOT earlier!!
