A bit of a bio: I grew up near Seattle, Washington in a number of towns amid a lot of rain. The rain kept me inside reading much of the time. Raised on a steady diet of Stephen King, Peter Straub and Clive Barker, I found wonder in the darkness. Though my appreciation for all forms of literature has grown over the years, I'm always drawn back to the mysterious dark. In addition to my Northwest roots, I've lived in Los Angeles, Denver, New Orleans and New York City. I currently reside in Austin, Texas. I'm an author of young adult novels, and my latest novel, MASON, was released by HarperTeen in July. The reviews have been great, and I'm thrilled with the response it has received. I'll have several new titles in the next couple of years, including the books SHIMMER and THE CALLING (written under the pseudonym Dallas Reed), and an urban fantasy trilogy, EXILED, all from HarperTeen.
