the legendary lost period of electrique baroque roque musique, known to musicologists as "rock opera"
Thomas Kugler is a musician/composer/producer with a classical music background and years of experience in rock/pop/alternative music. He has performed and recorded in a number of LA-area combos, including most recently Fang Of Love, for which he writes, sings, and plays guitar; he also does solo acoustic sets in the unplugged format.
In 2000, he released EVENSONG - A Vampire Rock Opera, a 27-song double-CD set which tells a story entirely in song with different singers for different characters in the story. In 2001, he directed and co-produced an abridged version of EVENSONG for the stage in Hollywood's Jewel Box Theatre Center.
Fall of 2005 saw the release of his second rock opera, LILITH - The Rock Opera, a 24-song double-CD set featuring thirty singers and musicians, including members of Fang Of Love, W.A.C.O., Listing Ship, Soho Vamp, and Pigmy Love Circus.
LILITH is the Creation story retold with the addition of Lilith, the first woman created to be Adam's wife. Coming to life as a spellbinding seductress, God condemns Lilith instead to Hell to join Satan as his bride, then creates Eve from Adam's rib. As Lilith was intended to be Adam's lover and to bear his children, she vows her revenge; she and Satan then conspire to bring about Adam and Eve's fall from grace and bring sin into the world when they are no longer under God's protection in Eden.
LILITH is also intended for the stage, and is currently in development.
