Interests

  • General

I program in HTML, PHP, mySQL, JavaScript, and bash. Other languages I've programmed in in the past (recent and ancient history) would include: Basic, Visual Basic, VBA, Batch, WSH, and even a small amount of Assembly...

Certifications: Microsoft Certified Network Engineer, Master Certified Netware Engineer.

Much of my spare time (isn't that an oxymoron?) is spent as a Scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America. I am also a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow, and an associate adviser for the Kitsotkwa chapter of the Wanna La-Mon'tay lodge, #442. My given Vigil name is Wulamallessuwi Gokhos, which translates to 'Smiling Owl'.
  • Music

I listen to Classic Rock. Some of my favorite bands include (but certainly not limited to) Pink Floyd, Ozzy Osbourne, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, Thin Lizzy, Tom Petty, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Who, Rolling Stones, Boston, Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyard, Van Morrison, Eagles, Aerosmith, Bob Seger, Scorpions, Bon Jovi, Dio, and many many more.
  • Movies

We have about 500 movies in our DVD library. Some of these are comedy, but most are action, drama, or sci-fi/Fantasy.
  • Television

Watch very little TV. Have enjoyed many shows though. Most recent ones have been: Heroes, Desperate Housewives, Lost, and Sarah Conner Chronicles. Previously we would wait until they put an entire season out to DVD, but now we have a DVR, so it makes it easier to catch the weekly shows.
  • Books

My library mainly contains two types of books; Technical reference, and Sci-fi/Fantasy.
  • Heroes

Henry Ford - Inventor, Entrepreneur, and Visionary
Lord Baden Powell - Founder of the Boy Scouts
Bill Gates - (I wish I'd done that)
My Grandfather - Too many ways to count

It was pretty fun. My instructor made me do them because I was afraid of doing stalls because I was afraid of spins. Well now that I know how to recover from a spin, I'm no longer afraid of them. However, I can only handle about 3 of them at a time before your stomach really starts to feel it.

But the spin itself was really cool. While your spinning towards the earth you don't feel a thing. It's just as if you were in straight and level flight except your facing the earth. You only feel Gs when you pull out of the spin. It was actually a really fun experience.
