Hi, thanks for coming. I've just moved to Scotland after travelling around for a while. Most of the songs on here were written in my old campervan Bert (Vansch. Like Jansch, yes?). I had to sell him to stay alive, so now I'm in Edinburgh making songs and the such. If anyone would like me to play at their venue, house, campervan etc. please get in touch.
My first ep, 'Quite Early One Morning', which was recorded in 2008 is now available on emusic.com
and itunes thanks to the good people at Nuxx; or you can get it at Avalanche Records in Edinburgh, or (in theory) from me at gigs.
People say nice things
He plays acoustic guitar like Bob Dylan, carefully plucking out the most elegant melodies, while his fragile voice has a rural grace that echoes Jeff Buckley but with a subtler charm. I dare you to name a more heartbreakingly beautiful song than Your Front Door.
The Pop Cop
...enchanted us with his delightful refrains...brought an unusual quavering voice to the lands by the Tees. It’s a voice that can delve into Tim Buckley depths of tenderness. At other times close your eyes and he could be straight out of some old musical soundtrack.
Review of a show at The Waiting Room, Stockton-on-Tees from Gazette Live.co.uk
"Should be entertaining a load of drunken shepherds in a Thomas Hardy novel...like a nineteenth century Jeff Buckley" Vinny Peculiar
"Thomas Western sings beautiful, soulful folk accompanied by a lyrical guitar. He is definitely one to watch, and his wonderful songs Apples in Summer and Your Front Door are worth going for alone." Jade Wright, Liverpool Echo 19/02/2007

I'm just listening to and enjoying your stuff Thomas. Really cracking tunes. Good imaginative songwriting, which is a rarity these days. Hope you can make through to play a gig in Glasgow sooner rather than later.
