This is actually a reinterpritation of a puppet theater originaly designed by the danish artist, Alfred Jacobsen. It was originally made in the late 1800's. I've tried to give it a more cartoony touch, and it was eventually blown up and used as a stagedecoration in a danish shoppingcenter.

I'm a Danish cartoonist and owner of a one-man company called: Thop Art.
I draw comic strips, one-panel cartoons, and illustrations for newspapers and magazines.

I'm married, I have 2 kids, a boy and a girl and live in a small house in the outskirts of Copenhagen.

For the last 6 years I have been working in a record store, that sells CD's and DVD's, which makes me a kind of a semi-expert, i guess.

I'm also a proud member of Gimle Studio, which is basicly a bunch of talented comic book artists, who all makes me fell like a complete amateur! ;)

On the spot is a series of one-panel cartoons i do in my spare time. I'm working on translating most of them into english and will post them here as soon as they are ready.

Below are a few examples of my comic strip: BURBIA (Hen ad vejen). It's currently running in a weekly Danish newspaper (Vestegnen). It's a family oriented series about the simple life in a typical suburbian area. Enjoy and do fell free to comment. More cartoons will be posted in the near future, so please stay tuned!

THE EVOLUTION OF THE BUNNY

I've always had a thing with rabbits. They are fun to draw, have big ears and are often very energetic (Which for most of the time, i'm not!). And for some strange reason "the bunny" always seems to sneak its way into my comic-strips whether I want it to or not.
It's like this living breathing thing inside me, just waiting to get out and have its way with me, and the rest of the world for that matter. And as the years rolled by, it just seemed to get bolder and more mean-spirited...
It all started in 1997. I've made this strip with some funny animals acting and talking like real people, who shared a flat somewhere in the big city. The bunny at the time was very naive and somewhat unlucky compared to it's later incarnations.

1997
The bunny have just arrived in the big city, and this is his first time at the local bar...
2000
More or less the same settings as the first time around. I made this for a competion held by one of the major Danish newspapers. I guess rabbits weren't the thing they were looking for!
2006 (1)
I was asked by a Danish youth magazine to make a comic strip about life among students. "Sure!" I answered "As long as I can put a rabbit into the mix!". It didn't last, but it mostly had to do with them never paying me!

Another competion. This time I decided that the main character should be a "GASP!" human!
The rabbit was supposed to be the guys alter ego or his evil side or something like that.
I didn't win this time either. Maybe I should try with a dog next time!...
