Check out this article about Thor's new CD, Fabrefaction!

An avid listener/player of music since he was eight, Thor has dabbled through a variety of instruments including recorder, clarinet, piano and drums. Thor's latest infatuation is that of the five-string fretted and fretless bass played in a lead position. Since age fifteen Thor has persued the daunting goal of changing social perceptions about bass. He understands that the instrument is fairly new and believes it is the bass' moment to shine.

Thor is a workhorse for his cause, working on up to four projects at a single time. Currently, you can observe Thor playing in Down From Nothing, Walking Void and here as Dylan "Thor" Keenberg. In the future Thor plans to include lessons with sound and video clips so fellow lead bassists can learn about his methods.

Thanks for visiting, jam on!

Is it the music of Ozzy Osbourne as played by his son Jack? Wait.... that would suck.

The only logical conclusion is of course, the Zappa Plays Zappa DVD. And the next logical request is fuckyougimmiegimmiegimmie.

thanks for the epic portrayal of Mon Staro! It's shaping up to be the best black and white pseudo-fifties movie made in the FP this year!

The Melvins next full length album is scheduled for release on July 8 through Ipecac Recordings and is titled "Nude With Boots". The eleven track album was recorded in January 2008 in Los Angeles and features the same line-up as (a) Senile Animal (Buzz & Dale along with Jared & Coady from Big Business ).

I scored a copy of the Awesome Show DVD today for $8. It has a neat little section on Awesomecon, and commentary from David Liebe Hart, where he talks about being abducted by aliens. That dude is fucking insane.

On September 18, it was announced that Dethklok was going to support And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead on a tour of twelve college campuses to promote Adult Swim. According to an e-mail newsletter, the band will feature Brendon Small, guitarist Mike Keneally, bassist Bryan Beller and drummer Gene Hoglan. On October 15, the [adult swim] website had put up the tour dates on their adultswimpresents.com page

UNFORTUNATELY, the only SoCal show is at UCLA, for UCLA students only. Why have we been foresaken?!?!

Man, if you find yourself in a Melviny mood anytime soon, I highly suggest picking up the Trilogy. I just listened to all three in a row and it was incredible. The Maggot has some of their slugiest stuff ever, the Bootlicker is probably thier most mellow/menacing LP, and the Crybaby is a great set of covers and collaborations, one notable one being a 15 minute Melvins/Tool fiasco, including a two minute drum off between the two! Amazing! So yeah, buy the Trilogy.

BASS!!!!

So I'm pretty sure I can play all of the Walking Void tunes inside and out now. I even have a faily decent idea for my solos as well. I just realized I played House of Teeth in its' entirety three times yesterday, meaning I spent almost a half hour on that song alone. I even played the latin part where you solo by myself for all twelve measures for some reason. So yeah, long comment short, we must rock. Or else.
