.. | | Music | As a journalist, I have to open my ears to all sorts of music, from death metal to jazz and beyond. As far as my music history, I began winning singing awards when I was in kindergarden, and I won state-wide competitions as a teenager by singing songs from "Phantom of the Opera," like "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again." For a while, I stopped singing and began watching music, soon falling into my position as a music journalist. Though I still practice, I've yet to find musicians I click with to actually put out an album; thus, I have begun working on my own project at the request of one of my friends. Currently, I am working on producing a CD of voice samples that can be used by DJs and other members of the music scene. Music examples can be found in my book, "Lyrics from New Orleans."
As far as people I've worked with, many people have asked, so just let me list some of the names of people I have either reviewed, interviewed or photographed: Nine Inch Nails, Snoop Dogg, Kittie, Black Label Society, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, The Doobie Brothers, Sebastian Bach (formerly of Skid Row), Professor Griff (foremerly of Public Enemy), Adema, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Mushroomhead, Rob Zombie, Crowbar, Superjoint Ritual, Scrotesque, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, Dave Matthews, The Original Funky Meters, Trey Anastasio, Phish, Les Claypool, The Frog Brigade, Galactic, DJ Meti4, Arch Enemy, The Delphonics, cuba Gooding Senior, Judas Priest, The Indigo Girls, Nashville Pussy, Genitorturers, The Rolling Stones, Tom petty, The Black Crowes, Fear Factory, Brand New Sin, Motorhead, Corrosion of Conformity, Enuff Z'Nuff, White Lion, Gravity Kills, Sevendust, Clutch, Therapy?, The Stylistics, Lil Bow Wow, Lil Wayne, Thaw, Slipper, Loop guru, Pitch Shifter, The Mooney Suzukis, Pennywise, Hot Water Music, Bad Religion, Less Than Jake, Circle Jerks, Waterdown, Michael Franti, Particle, Michael Hart, Drowning Pool (RIP Dave Williams), Damage Plan (RIP Dimebag), Betty Blowtorch (RIP Bianca Butthole), Fillmore Slim, Hogwash, Goiterjelly, Torrance, Dread Heaviness, Lollipop Lust Kill, Gwar, The Cherry Valance, The Immortal Lee County Killers, Stone Sour, Megadeth, Dry Kill Logic, Danzig, Prong, Down, The Graves, Dr. Chud's X-Ward, Meshuggah, POD, Cradle of Filth, Mudvayne, Gizmachi, Seether, Rise Against, Green Day, Ministry, Juliette lewis and the Licks, Beastie Boys, Andre Williams, Allen Touissant, The Latelys, Chris Klein, The boulevards, Rat In A Bucket, 311, Jimmy Eat World, Snow Patrol, The Pixies, Iron Maiden, Papa Mali, The Radiators, Billy Idol, Queens Of The Stone Age, The White Stripes, The Yonder Mountain String Band, The Hackensaw Boys, karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Tony Hall, Anders Osborne, Hairy Apes BMX, Disturbed, Shadow's Fall, Chamiria, Andrew W K, As I Lay Dying, Three Dog Night, Journey, Anti-Flag, Sammy Hagar, High On Fire, Soilent Green, Dropkick Murphys, The Guess Who, Simple Wisdom, Matthew Sullivan, Rusted Root, 54/40, Fudge Chicken, Mastodon, Endo, Neurotica, Otep, Doyle, Weird Al, Page and Plant, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Valume Knob, Luciano, Jah Witness, Nicholas Peyton, James Taylor, Papa Grows Funk, Sonic Youth, New Found Glory, Ali Woodson (foremrly of The Temptations), Static-X, Custom, Chevelle, Cheap Trick (first photo shoot at 13-years-old), Steppenwolf (second photo shoot at 13-years-old) and so many others that I cannot even list them all at this point and time. I've also worked with other entertainers, such as pat Sajak (Wheel of Fortune), Obsession (adult film star) and King Kong Bundy (pro-wrestler), but we'll just leave the list at that for now. Let's just say that most people remember my interviews by my questions about yogurt and unicorns... | | Movies | Though I wrote, acted and directed a video "The Temptress" for The Latelys, all my equipment was stolen while I was living in New Orleans. My film "The Other Side of Glamor," a documentary about the music scene was put on hold, half the footage also having been stolen. I became the "token white girl" in Lil Wayne's "Bring It Back" video, and I also had small parts with Disney in "Pizza Wars," as well as IMAX in "Hurricane Warning." Now, I'm writing screenplays and trying to come up with funding for production, which is easier said than done, so keep your fingers crossed as to what might come in the future. | | Television | I don't keep track of my television appearances, but I have been filmed by HBO, Showtime, NBC, CBS, ABC, FX, VH1, MTV, MTV2 and Comedy Central on my many ventures. From touring with Ozzfest, running around half-naked at Mardi Gras and Fantasy Fest, and winning the wet t-shirt contest at the Testicle Festival, I've become used to camera crews. Tommy Victor tried telling me that I should write for television, but I'm still not sure if I'm into that whole scene yet, gimmie time. | | Books | The first book I wrote was "The Key West Cemetary" through Author House, a black and white book of photography with all pictures an no text. Then I switched to Lulu, because the deal really cannot be beat. Challenging myself to see how many books I could produce, I first published a calendar "American Landscapes" for 2007, then I published my 10-year collections of "Shadowing Light" and "Illuminating Darkness," the first a poetry collection and the other a collection of scattered scriblings. "Waking Up On Bourbon" was written in three days while I camped along Bourbon Street in New Orleans, getting free food and alcohol from Galatoire's Restaurant. "The Princess Ventures Trilogy" is a screenplay trilogy that was written in record time while I lived in New Orleans, consisting of "Enchanted Island," "Enchantment" and "Shadow Walkers." With a naughty princess as the lead character, reality morphs into a dark world of mythological creatures with fairies, witches, elves, ogres, vampires, werewolves and so much more. "Jazz Fest 2005" is a book of full-color photography taken during my trip to New Orleans, a two-week venture to cover as many diverse concerts as possible. "Before and After Jazzfest" is a follow-up to the book, another full-color book of photography featuring previously un-released interviews, reviews and more of my life as a music journalist. "Painted Princess Poses: Fantasy Fest Featuring Fresh 236" is a full-color book of photography basically of girls and I having our tits painted by my ex during Fantasy Fest in Key West. "Abandoned Warehouse" is a photographic collection with all pictures and no text, full-color. "A Witch's Tail" is a novel I wrote in Key West and New Orleans; it features four intertwining storylines in a darkly complex occult murder mystery, one of my favorites. "The Stoney Path" was my first novel, wrote as I was coming out of a wheelchair from a cliff diving accident where they told me I would never walk again (though I proved them wrong). "Further Down The Stoney Path" is a follow-up novel, which I wrote in Key West, that dives further into the occult background. "Heidi" was also written in Key West, but it was banned while I was living in New Orleans. "Stoner Point" is my first theatre play, written about a post-teen drug scene in a mere five days. "Marisa's Ultimate Party Guide" is drink and food book made from the skills I gathered on my journies, lots of yummy dishes, from fancy to quick and easy. "Key Gangstas" is a book of short stories influenced by all the interesting shady characters I've met along the way, and it gets a bit graphic. "Stages of a Broken Heart" is a poetry collection where I am licking my wounds from a broken relationship. "Lyrics From New Orleans" is a collection of my music lyrics with melody lines, a tad on the dark side, as I'm not real good at writing happy hogwash. It includes two whole albums that will be put together whenever I have money and can find outlandish musicians that I click with. "Black Widow" is my vampire novel, sort of a follow-up to the Princess Ventures Trilogy, the screenplays, but not really at the same time. "Girls Are Good" is my latest fetish photo book, as is "(This Is What Happens) When You Get Bored," and "Hanging' With Obsession" is a book that features the work I did with an adult star a few years back, full color photo shoot and interview collection. About me:

Writer, photographer, singer, actress, director - no scratch that - directress, real estate agent and even a model at times, I dabble in everything from jewelry to forensics. Yeah, I toured as a Harley Girl on Ozzfest in 2002. Yeah, I was the sales model for RockStar Airbrush at Fantasy Fest, Mardi Gras and for a few spots on Ozzfest. Yeah, I published like 25 books at http://www.lulu.com/thorisaz - everything from screenplays, theatre plays and books of photography, to novels, poetry and lyrics. Yeah, I like to travel, and I've lived in Bay City (MI), Monroe (MI), Newport (MI), Defiance (OH), Charleston (WV), Toledo (OH), Fort Myers Beach (FL), West Dennis (Cape Cod, MA), Key West (FL) and New Orleans (LA) so far. Yeah, I have no clue where I will wind up next, maybe graduate school? Though I'm crossing my fingers that the books will take off and save me the time and money. I guess time will tell what happens.

Who I'd like to meet:
Through music journalism, I've met most of the people that I have dreamed of meeting, seeing how my first interview at 21-years-old was with my favorite band since I was 12-years-old, Therapy? out of Ireland. I would have loved to meet Shannon Hoon while he was alive, but I guess I would like to meet Axl Rose, Trent Reznor, Bruce Campbell (I'd really like him to star in my screenplay trilogy with Alicia Silverstone and Johnny Depp), Mike Patton and Madonna, just because she and I were born in the same town.
