    THORNESBREED was founded back in 1997 by Sermon, Barth, N. and E. to play sophiosticated, grim and misathropic death metal. The fist release (rehearsal tape) called "Sunburst MCMXCVII" was recorded soon and helped the band to become locally known. After gaining some live experiences the band recorded their first studio-demo "Suppression of desire" in 1999, which was well received in the scene then. Due to several insuperable differences about the musical pathes to be commited to, N. and E. split from the band and founded their own project AUDIOMATIX in 2000. Faust joined the band immediately and filled in vacant guitar position. The bass position was filled in by Moses who left the band in 2001 due to personal reasons. Henceforth no bassist was found for the coming three years and TRHORNESBREED existed as a three-piece. In 2001 the 2nd studio demo "Preaching The Sin" was recorded and showed the development of the band's music towards a more grim, more raging and more sophisticated style of death metal. This tape was also very well received by the scene. In 2003 the full length debut album "The splendour of the repellent" was released via ANIMATE Records. This album might be designated as the logical consequence of "Preaching the sin". For the first time, black metal influences became remarkable. In 2004 Eva joined the band and filled in the bass position that had been vacant for the past few years. During the following 4 years the band played several live gigs, wrote new pieces of music, but in general there was no way to release the stuff as the band couldn't agree with ANIMATZE Rec. on the release of a new album. In 2008 THORNESBREED recorded the MCD "273. degrees below zero" which has been unreleased until now. In 2009 Eva left the band and Sermon took the bass position. In search for a new 2nd guitarist, Morvan joined the band in 2009. In 2010 Barth was forced to quit his job and leave the drums due to health problems. Yet in the same year, Dibbuk was found as an equivalent substitution and well-fitting new band member. In the end of 2010, after almost 4 years of calmness and public abstinence, THORNESBREED came back to the stage with a new line-up and a lot of new material that has been written during the past few years. Currently the band is are forcing the release of the 2008 MCD and the return to the german stages.
