You've reached the home of the Thorns Rugby Football Club, central Pennsylvania's newest and fastest growing women's rugby team. For more information, visit our website at www.thornsrugby.com
The York & Lancaster Thorns RFC, established on July 17, 2005, is a Division II club, a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union and USA Rugby. We provide an exhilarating rugby and social experience for both seasoned players and newcomers to the sport.
There has never been a York or Lancaster women's team. The founders of this organization were fortunate enough to be able to benefit from the rich and wonderful rugby culture in Pennsylvania. It was their vision and desire to give back to their communities and try to promote and advance a sport that had given them so much (i.e. seven rugby-starved post-grads had way too much free time and really missed tackling people).
Rugby enjoys three seasons: a Fall season (August-November) which determines participation in post-season activity, a Spring season (February-June), and a Summer season (June-August) characterized by various tournaments. As a fully functional organization, the Thorns can offer women the opportunity to participate in any one, a combination or all three of the aforementioned seasons and related events.
About me: The goal of the York & Lancaster Thorns Women's Rugby Club is to provide high quality rugby and outstanding social experiences to seasoned players, newcomers to the game, and everyone in between.
New players and social members are always welcome!
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!
It's never too late (or too early) to join!

Go get em, thorns! Will be jealous as you guys are playing your first spring game this weekend and I'm out here hanging with the antelope and no rugby to be found... :( Trying to put together some pick-up rugby in my new town, but I don't think anyone even knows what a game is supposed to look like...
