Penny for the Guy was born out of an experiment. I've been a musician and songwriter for as long as I can remember now. If you will, you could call it a one man band pushing the bounderies of a small home recording studio.
Penny for the Guy is the musical toy of myself, Guy Brader. I've been writing and performing songs for years. My dad had a little unknown band in the 60's called "The Soundcasters" who performed hits of the time at local dances and clubs. I started to take interest in playing guitar at the age of 6. I formed my first band in my early teenage years, we played all the local pubs and clubs to diverse crowds and strange requests around Lincolnshire, UK every weekend.
Around this time my music and lifestyle interest started to follow the path of modernism. My musical influences shifted to the likes of The Small Faces, The Who, The Yardbirds, The Jam, '79 revival bands and I couldn't get enough of 60's Soul and R&B which is still a great passion. I then did my time in The Threads (an 80's UK Mod band) for a while and then took off to greener pastures and the sunny skies of Texas.
After a few years of growing into my songwriting skin, exploring the roots of modernism and the sheer love of music, Penny for the Guy evolved.
