Sounds Like
.... "While so many indie rock bands these days seem fueled by their obvious literary backgrounds, Three Cheers Faraday belong to the other camp: those who pay homage to science, at least in their names. Along with the Magnetic Fields and Denver rockers the Bluebird Equation. What appears out of this electron haze is a fully formed sound that is both energetic and, well, magnetic. Vocalist Jamie Krapohl has the post-punk drone in his voice, but with added emotion over the metallic quality that makes it feel a little less scientific and a little more human, backed by the solid drums and bass, with tight, catchy guitar licks to counter the cryptic lyrics.".... --Robin Edwards.. Cairn Magazine, "Get to know your local bands," 08/03/08.... "The outfit's angular yet sinuous rhythms and chiming guitars are reminiscent of Gang of Four, yet its obtuse pop sensibilities and creative pacing recall acts like the Dismemberment Plan. At the same time, there's a playful element to Faraday's music that keeps even the group's desperate-sounding songs from driving full on into darkness.".... --Tom Murphy.. Westword, 08/14/08.... "...a stark, speedy and succinct sound that at time recalled early Clash tunes, and at others summoned more modern parallels with bands like Gang of Four...While the Boulder-based band was one of the few imports to Denver for the evening, the act’s enthusiasm and energy made it a seamless part of the lineup." .... --Adam Goldstein.. Westword, 08/18/08.. ..Three Cheers Faraday has shared the stage with: ....Grand Archives ..Travis Morrison of Dismemberment Plan ..Pattern Is Movement ..Widowers ..CAT-A-TAC ..Laylights ..Sonnenblume ..Light Travels Faster ..Blue Million Miles ..Hello Kavita ..Tiny Television ..Roger, Roll ..Raleigh ..Thee More Shallows ..Action Packed Thrill Ride ..A Shoreline Dream ..Numbers ..Magic Bullets ..Killfix ..New Dialectic
