The Three Dollar Band is comprised of three musicians with varied musical backgrounds striving to produce new arrangements and music inspired by our traditional roots.
We perform a varied repertoire of American folk songs, Appalachian music, traditional Irish music, sea shanties, and original compositions. Our thoughts being that historically and presently has been much cross talk between these genres especially in the country we call home. From an Irish fiddler playing on the capstan of a British ship to rouse an ethnically diverse crew in the 1860s, to the present conglomeration of repertoire you will hear in a Boston pub session, there has been much cross fertilization that has been bypassed attempts to keep musical traditions in a time capsule. We respect the "pure drop" but with to present something new. Hope you enjoy!
