So you know were not really a functioning band anymore right?
Oh sure, there maybe could would be a resurrection (insurrection?) someday, but for the moment we're not making sound together.
If you want any of our cds, drop a line and we'll work something out. I have tons just waiting to be heard.
It was a great time when it was happening!
It would be lame of me not to mention the past 3DB mates on this page, so please know that Jenny Evil and CA Matteson were mine & Chris' partners in crime for about 2 albums before they left.
Chippy & G came aboard to share in the fun and evolve our music. We rocked! & made the indie-nominated "Parody of Pleasure" album together.
I'll get back to putting up a ThreeDollarBill.net website again soon enough. (I can't do everything all the time! sheesh)
Until then, here's some old tunes now and again.
Keep on with your bad self.
live until you die,
Jane Danger
If you still care, here's our gay bio
(but the book and music are really what matters):
Political crusaders and queercore vets, THREE DOLLAR BILL, have emerged with their best album to date, "Parody Of Pleasure".
Now 4 year vets of the band, rhythm section Chippy and G-Rex add a special dose of lightning and funk to Three Dollar Bill. The "Parody" cd features more right-on political observations and even some triple hot harmonies!
Some say 3DB sounds like X or The Pixies or even Queens of the Stone Age! The band feels like someone you'd know--or should know: Speaking out and consistently fighting against shit that just ain't right, but all the while having a sense of humor and not being preachy about it. THREE DOLLAR BILL gives you an assault of dissonant guitars and intricate rhythms. Speaking from both a male and female perspective, "the songs hook you with desire, lust, and rage." -- Monica Kendrick, Chicago READER
After Jane Danger's nearly fatal motorcycle crash the band managed to pull together to complete "Parody Of Pleasure" in the traditional DIY fashion which has become their staple. What else would they do?
Give the album a listen for yourself. Cheap off the website: WWW.THREEDOLLAR.NET Rise up and rock on!
READ the band's featured chapter in the book "Homocore: The Loud and Raucous Rise of Queer Rock" by David Ciminelli. You can order it on the web. Be smart! Get yourself some good 90's music education on the subversive queer indie rock movement.
(And you thought you knew it all)
GO SEE the "Hellbent" movie by Paul Ethridge-Outz! The first-ever gay slasher movie! (you can rent it at Blockbuster--funny)
Three Dollar Bill's entire 4-cd music catalog is available.
Not bad for some queers who had to get something off their chests.
