As a songwriter Damon Williams was honored as a finalist in Onstage Magazine's 2001 Unisong International Songwriter's Contest. The original composition he submitted, "Pray for Eyes that See", was co-written and produced by Rodney Skipworth of the R&B duo Skipworth & Turner whose 1985 dance hit, "Thinking About Your Love" took the number one spot on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.
Damon Williams believes in using his talent for community awareness. In response to the disappearance of Xiana Fairchild on her way to school in December 1999, Williams wrote the song, "Rachel's Weeping For Her Children" with ConFunkShun band member Danny Thomas. Produced by Williams and Thomas, "Rachel" was featured on a CD dedicated to Xiana who was tragically found to have been kidnapped and murdered.
Williams performed the song for at every vigil throughout the search for the seven year old girl, plus numerous anti-violence rallies and even an appearance on Cable Channel 28 in El Cerrito. "I can think of no better reason to open my mouth and sing," he explains.
Williams is also an aspiring actor, performing in local community theater. He made his acting debut in the title role of 'Purlie Victorious' at the Mira Theatre for which he won the 2001 Dollie award for Best Male Leading Actor in 2001. Since then Williams has been nominated four times for local Arty Awards and received a second Dollie for his role in "Blues for An Alabama Sky." He has also appeared in "Ceremonies in Dark Old Men," "Prophet Nat," "The Wedding," "Mulatto," and recently in "Murder Dressed in Satin.
Damon has joined Vallejo's community radio station, Ozcat Radio 1670 AM as the host of his own radio show, "Walking The Musical Landscape with The Nomad". The show airs live each Wednesday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. from Vallejo, California to the known world on www.ozcatradio.com.
Singer/songwriter Damon Williams is setting out on his own personal musical journey with a bold solo project entitled, "Three Faces of Man". Williams' voice is both lyrically and vocally one of many colors as he incorporates elements from R&B, pop, alternative and neo-soul into a unique sound that defies standard labeling.
"You've found the tune, not the song," Willams poignantly sings on the single, "Something U Told Me". He hopes listeners will come "face to faces" with his multi-faceted perspective. He calls his new project a "musical documentary"-- one man's coming to terms with the animal, human and spiritual elements of his nature.
Unafraid to peel back the masks of his own illusions, Williams explores themes of love and lust, truth and deception, faith and doubt. "Three Faces of Man" is a self-revealing look into the inward nature and true substance of human life. Through hearfelt lyrics and his distinctive vocal style, Damon Williams takes the listener on his inward trip toward self-awareness: "I cannot budge/I've learned to judge/and these decisions imprison me," he signs on "Is It Easier Dying".
Damon Williams was born in Nashville, Tennessee where music played a part in his life from early on. He developed his professional career as a vocalist performing in the Bay Area nightclubs, festivals, as well as corporate and private events as a member of the R&B vocal trio, Infinity and as one of the Temptations in B. Edwards' Motown Revue.
In 2003, Williams became the front man for Northern Cailfornia's Urban Bushmen. A high energy, crowd pleasing act, known locally as "The Soul of Vallejo", the Bushmen were a perfect band for Damon Williams' engaging performance style.
Williams smooth vocals have earned him respect as a hard-working session artist; his full range and harmonizing skills can also be heard on various CDs released by Bay Area artists.

Hey Cuz, Thanks so much. Have been so busy lately but it is good to hear from you. Give my love to your family. Just saw your dad last Friday at Marti's graduation from Beauty School. He's looking good. I asked him to tell his twin to take better care of himself though, so he can look as good.
