Beyond the Rocks has been listed in archives as a completely lost film (but has been now found) A complete record of the way the film was publicized and received in the press exists in Gloria Swanson’s voluminous scrapbooks, meticulously preserved by her before they became part of the collection of the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center in Austin, Texas. Swanson saved every scrap of paper, every newspaper article, interview, photograph, or press release that appeared about her in newspapers and magazines, worldwide.
