"It doesn’t get much more underground than the frequently frozen hinterlands of Montana, and not many would expect a metal band of any quality to hail from such an inauspicious location. If places like Norway have taught the world anything, however, it’s that the frigid backwoods can produce some very surprising musical talents. Throne of Malediction is one such group of up-and-comers who have been forced to make their own unique sound because, frankly, there just aren’t enough other bands in their scene for them to copy anyone else"......"There are echoes of death metal, thrash, and even hardcore, but none of those labels fully apply to the music as a whole."

Based in the desolate reaches of Kalispell Montana USA, Throne of Malediction was formed in late 2006 under the name Sonic Demise. After a few lineup changes and band name change with Eric "Godaweful" Horner(vocals, guitar) and Jessica Horner(vocals, guitar, keyboards) as core members. Throne released a free limited print ep called EP-1 and played many shows in the northwest USA in spring of 2009. They have a wide range of sound that is all based in black metal principles. They play all tempos and are not afraid to play slower tracks. Doomy is a good way to start to describe the Throne sound...
The core members, Jessica and Eric, are forging ahead in their shared obsession for metal music. Throne of Malediction are still continuing to write new material and have plans for a 2010 album release with new lineup. Tim Godbold joined on drums in July 2009 with a more aggressive drumming style that will take Throne to a whole new level. Jeff King(formerly on drums)is on Bass as of August 2009. Throne of Malediction is also trying to get better gigs and plans to tour in the future. They are also working on a side band, Irreverant Soul, which is side project songs which released an EP through Satanica Records in January 2010...
"We try not to over-complicate our music and try to feel the flow more than try to show off and over-analyze. We feel that in most good music, less can be really more..... We are serious about our music however, and have deep respect and love for metal(especially black metal). It is life to us. We honestly have nothing better, or more fulfilling to do with our lives than to play music. We also have a few anti-religious members in throne and we are not scared to say so. Organized Religion is just BS, period... I think these traits in us add to the fact that we really do have a different vibe and sound to us compared to a lot of other metal bands. Throne is trying ON PURPOSE to not be trendy or too overly polished in our sound. Metal is supposed to be raw and does not have to have "Pro-Tools" magic added to make a good song. We make the music we WANT to make... Being in Montana, isolated makes it a bit harder to do this(play metal music,as there is virtually no scene), but we got the stubborn will 4sure!!!! We talk of where we are from so much, because it effects our sound. I think if we lived in a nice sunny place, our music would be different for sure. Environment is a factor in music and art in general. We hope to hear feedback, and to see you at our shows. We have to travel to most...The great reaction at shows and to our first release, EP-1 has actually surprised us. Carpathian Forest gave us a great response to our cover of "Bloodlust and Perversion" too. Without people to support us or any band for that matter at shows, it's kinda hard hahaha. Please support your local bands. There are diamonds in the rough out there... Thanks to all our fans we have, we appreciate you:)

Hey whats up? We have released new demo/promo called Psychic Devourment. Visit our myspace and listen our new songs and feel free to comment us!! Prepare for the Psychic Devourment!
We like your outlook/philosophy and respect what you're doing. "Empty Soul" is kind of interesting, as is some of your other works. I, personally, think they are songs that take a "few listens" to "grasp", in a way. Initially, they seem kind of "rough" and "unsophisticated"...but a slight shift in awareness/perspective and it starts to "make sense". "Real art" is usually that way, maybe. ;-)
It's more inspiring than the thousand clones out there...so, keep it up!
Also, you MAY--actually--be the first metal band I've encountered from Montana. I was thinking about that before, oddly enough...as I use to be involved more in the U.G. than now, and I don't remember EVER getting mail from there, etc.
Cheers Eric.. looking forward to hearing some grim offerings and using some lyrics/propaganda from my little black book.. any country and western riffs on the go? Blackened slide guitar?
