Throw the Heat started originally in the summer of 2006 as a 5-piece band facing a struggle to find musicians that were dedicated to making music their main prerogative in life. People came and left and thus the sound of the band changed as time went on. .... Throw the Heat released an EP in 2007 called “Can’t Stop the Trends” featuring six tracks with a more pop-punk type of feel. That summer, Throw the Heat embarked on their first national tour which was unfortunately cut short due to vehicular malfunctions. They came home to perform at the Vans Warped Tour in Englishtown, NJ. In 2008, not much was done with Throw the Heat. A lack of commitment amongst members caused for new line-up changes. The band performed their old set for the last time in the summer of 2008 on a 10 day east coast tour with Red Light Green Light. .... Today, Throw the Heat has turned to a fresh, harder sound while still keeping the element of pop-punk incorporated in their music. The band is in the process of releasing their new EP called “Take it up with the Devil” and working diligently to expand their horizons both musically and geographically outside of the New York / New Jersey area. Still a 5-piece, the band is today comprised of vocalist Tony Cincotta, guitarists Jason Leffler and Rob DeLapena, bassist James Lucas and drummer Chris Rosario.
