Sounds Like"Thudbox are one of the most refreshingly unusual bands to play the (Cambridge Band) competition for several years and whipped the audience into a frenzy with a barrage of drums, cowbells, glockenspiels and anything else they could find to shake, hit and rattle to provide the missing link between samba and drum and bass" - Nik Shelton, CEN

"Thudbox won the first heat for being technically brilliant and putting on a great show" - Simon Baker, Green Mind Promotions

   About Thudbox
Thudbox is a percussion-based group of twelve musicians, all of whom live, work and study in Cambridge. While our musical roots and influences are driven predominantly by Afro-Caribbean and Brazilian samba percussion styles, we are far more than that. Much of our current repertoire has been developed collectively by the group and mixes traditional Brazilian rhythms with funk, drum and bass and jungle. The result is a swirling, fast paced mix of percussive sound that can capture the attention of a crowd in seconds and have them jumping and dancing before they know it. We’ve been around for about twelve months during which time we have concentrated all of our efforts on rehearsal and working up musical ideas into gig-able numbers. We think that approach has paid off. We now have a solid repertoire of pieces to be proud of and we are ready to share it with the world….

March benefit

This month we think we've cracked it!!

Tragic Roundabout:

Probably don't need to tell u how fantastic these guys are..but just incase u've been living in a cave for the last 10 yrs, here's a bit of a heads up..

"The Tragic sound is totally infectious and sucks you into their bizarre world of lino salesmen, camel herders, obscure places and cakes leaving you dazed, happy and feeling a little bit ridiculous."

"TR are so effortlessly good it sometimes takes a while to fully appreciate their unique brew of Eastern European rhythms, ska, punk, folk, klezmer and bar room sing songs. But once you do, the music grips you in it's relentless vice, and before you know it, you end up dancing like a goon on hot coals."

Cosmo:

Formerly Guitarist n Vocals for the legendary Flannel, Cosmo brings his us his view of the world in a way onli he could..

"Cosmo does not need to think too hard when he writes a song because he is a soul searching philosopher that is constantly thinking about the meaning of life, questioning why life is the way it is, occasionally getting angry about it, wondering what can be done to put it right, and trying to work out whose round it is."

And as always the eclectic beats from our Mr Scott Free..In Your Hearts Not In The Charts!..

Need we say anymore?!!

Oh, apart from..come n support ur eva smily Green Area crew!
