THUMBE....just another release..... I don’t think so....
When I first got in contact with the band, they amazed me with their ability to jam their way through the
gig, one night was never the same as the other..
I found myself touched by the playfulness, the soulfulness of their performances,
-It’s all about keeping it alive, Magnus says, one of the guitarists.
Since we’re the best of friends, we do listen to each other, and we’ve growned accustomed to go with the
flow of things...
Listening to the album, some things come to me, at first, everybody’s contributed to the result.
Through the beat of Henrik and Micael, the elegant arpeggios of Magnus, the dirty rhythm guitars of Hans, the sweet Hammond of Dan, and the soulful vocals, it’s sweet and thoughtful, dirty and loud.
-It was never our intention to make a concept album, although in a way...thats how it turned out,
Henrik says. “The main thing was to work with the different ideas and just go with the flow.
There’s however three our four songs which in a way are linked together,
sort of like parts in a puzzle”
The album was mainly recorded at SGS studios in Gothenburg, owned by Kalle Gustavsson in
The Soundtracks of our lives, a relationship than started when the band did a gig with Ebbot,
the lead singer of the T.S.O.O.L. -The studio has a great atmosphere and a load of old analog equipment,
hense the sound and why we’ve choosed it, Hans says.
I can hear such different inspirations such as: CCS, Floyd, Purple, Frankie Miller, Manfred Mann and
Los Lobos...and although the album has an air of the early seventies, it’s got more...
It holds reflections about our everyday life, from our deepest worries and thoughts, the meaning of it all, through the brightest and “just get happy” moments...
Lets hold on to what we’ve got and try to make a difference...join the journey of
THe UltiMate Blues Experience...
