Music
Music is a passion of mine. I love my favorites, I love the thrill of new music, watching musicians perform and the effect it has on the audience...
I hate this question because I'm against comparing art. Art should be experienced and enjoyed for what it is, not what you think it should be...
Music I listen to most often... NIN, Korn, Tool, Sting, Nirvana, Johnny Cash, Queensryche, Alice in Chains, Sisters of Mercy, The Police, The Ramsey Lewis Trio, Rob Zombie, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Switchblade Symphony, Mazzy Star, Portishead, Poe, Marylin Manson, Rage Against the Machine, Sound Garden, and so much more...did I mention I hate this question?
Another musician I really dig is my friend Cinco. Here's a really cool song thats worth clicking on. Plus it has puppets... Stuffins and Sara - Angry Skies
Movies
I love watching movies...all kinds of movies...here are a few of my favorites that I can think of off the top of my head...
all time faves, IE movies I watch every couple of years...
Blade Runner, Heavy Metal, Excalibur, The Crow, Fight Club, 300, Dawn of the Dead, Thunderheart, The Point and others.
other favorites
The Big Lebowski, Alien, Gummo, Evil Dead Trilogy, Wyatt Earp, Schizopolis, Dances with Wolves, Henry Fool, Terminator 2, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Trek's 2 and 4...and lots more...
and funny movies on the internet...like this one :D

Who I'd like to meet: Honestly coming up with a list of people and ideas about why I'd like to meet them is kind of obnoxious...which makes this exercise altogether interesting.
I love some of the great philosophical reasons people have in their profile about why they love humankind and all of that, but now is the time to get off the fence of grand ideology and define ourselves instead of hiding in a morass of vagaries and pleasantries instead of standing for something.
Lo the information age and all of its noise, we need to quiet our minds and know who we are and what we aren’t.
As such, here's my homework assignment...
Dreamers, Visionaries, Solipsists and Explorers. Actors, Musicians, Writers and Provocateurs. These are the people I want to meet..
We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams.

(I said Dewey, not Stewie...) Angelou, Maya :: I'd love to hang out with Mrs. Angelou, but I'd really love just to hear her read, listen to her words and learn the wisdom.
Asner, Ed :: Ed is fantastic. Honestly, I'd just like to get dragged over the coals and dressed-down in that classic Asner style.
Davis, Jonathan :: I just dig Jon the band and the music. I think it'd be a blast to just hang out for a lil while and laugh at the darker side of life.
Franklin, Benjamin :: Not only does Ben totally kick ass, but talking to dead people would be neat as hell. We'd drink some beer, eat some food and chase the secrets of the universe. If I was lucky enough, we'd get to write a paper together.
Reznor, Trent :: Since 1988, Trent's music has haunted me passionately but oddly enough, Trent is a leader in the field of understanding internet communities and communications. Also a passion of mine, I'd like to share notes :)
Rollins, Henry :: I'd like to hang out with Henry and bitch about politics, the human condition and communication. If you don't know why, go check out his site.
Shelley, Mary :: It's a Frankenstein thing. You either get it or you don't and if you don't, you should.
Silverman, Sarah :: Sarah is a freakin riot and not afraid to say the word fart. I'd love to people watch with Sarah and laugh as they try to cover up the silly human things we all do...like fart in public and then lie about it.
Stern, Howard :: Number one defender of free-speech and the most important broadcaster of the 20th and 21st centuries, communication, the human condition and all things obnoxious and funny would fall prey to our world perspectives....
Stewart, Jon :: A few glasses of wine and some great appetizers would set the stage for a grand introspection about politics, politicians and the craft of wordsmithing.
Stewart, Patrick :: To see Shakespeare and the art of acting and character development through Patrick's eyes and sensibilities would be a gift.
