My Dad and my son Jeremy, he is an awesome kid. Jeremy has a condition called E.D.S. or Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. He has type VI, Kyphoscoliosis. It causes muscle weakness and he also has severe scoliosis. Jeremy wears braces on both legs and a body vest to help keep his back straight. He is making great progress, but is behind in his motor development.
He is very smart which I guess makes up for him not being able to climb and run and jump. He just turned 5 and is reading and doing math. But he can't play outside without constant supervision. He has broken his femur two times already from simple falls that didn't even leave a bruise. He doesn't know he is different though, and goes through life as if the braces and everything else are just a normal part of the day. He gives me great pleasure (most of the time)He is my best buddy and dad is his buddy. We don't know what his future is and neither do the Dr.'s Jeremys form of E.D.S. is the rarest form and there really is no information on it. I keep hoping that he will get stonger and improve, but I know thats not likely to happen.
Update 04/29/2008
Jeremy was able to get up off of the floor to standing today without anything to hold on to. That is a major milestone. It probably doesnt seem like much to most, but for me it was so great to see him do that.
Jeremy loves to play online games and watch videos on the computer and has become quite good at getting around the internet. He has for a long time, but now he just takes over and goes where he wants to go. Hopefully when he gets older he can have a future in computers. Something that doesnt require him to have a physical job. I am so proud of the progress he is making. At his last Dr. visit the Dr's were very impressed with his improvements and his math skills. He is breaking new grounds every day. I just hope it keeps up. Thanks to everyone who have supported us and your prayers for Jeremy are being answered.
Update 8-29-2008
Jeremy was evaluated today at school to be put in advanced reading and math classes. After the first few days of school his teacher said he was so far ahead of his classmates that he needed to be advanced. I met with the advanced teacher yesterday and discussed where to put him. They are going to keep him in kindergarten, just move him to second or third grade reading classes and math classes. I am so proud of my little man. I told them that he was too smart for kindergarten and it didn't take long for them to see it themselves. I will update as soon as I get the results back from the gifted teacher and see where they place him. I'm just glad his teacher was smart enough to keep him challenged and move him ahead. She told me that she was putting some of the other kids with Jeremy so he could help her teach them to read. How awesome is that??
I couldn't be prouder at this moment. I'm so happy that all of the things I have taught him are paying off for him. Hey, he can't climb on the monkey bars, but he can tell time and read books and do addition and subtraction in his head. I worked a little bit on multiplication last night with him, so it won't be long before he is doing that as well. He retains things so well. Sorry for going on about him, I am just beaming right now....
About me: A hard working full service music store. If we don't have it, we will get it for you.
Thurman Music Was established in 2001 and has grown beyond my dreams. We have had our ups and downs and 2008 looks to be a fantastic year. We recently added lots of new guitar, bass and amp lines to our inventory. We now cary ESP / LTD guitars a new line of guitars called Praiseland check them out!! and Cort Guitars have once again graced our store walls. We returned to carying Rocktron amplifiers and are still Marshall amp dealers as well.
For our beginner section we added JReynolds guitars and man are they great!! We said goodbye to Dean Guitars since they will sell to anyone and even people out of their home without a storefront. We want no part of a company like that. We want companies who stand behind their product and their local dealers. Not someone who will sell to a person out of a trailer park!! Check us out, you can see pictures of some of our new products in my pictures or better yet STOP IN and see us in person.
We also run Body Jewelry and Peircing Inc. in Fort Madison, IA and Galesburg, IL. I have been doing Piercing for 18 years and have done over 35,000 piercings. Drop us a line on here or stop by our websites and check out the pictures there. You can also get aftercare tips and help from the websites as well. Thanks for 18 years of loyalty.

Damn! I'm tearing up. I looked at her pics. What a pretty dog. That's go to be so hard. I lost my childhood dog and I never really got over it. I watched someone run him over in our ditch and they just drove off. I even picked up a rock and threw it through their back window. The bastard didn't even stop after I vandalized his car! It seemed like he did it on purpose! I held Slash all the way to the vet and told him what a good boy he was. I wouldn't throw that bloody shirt away for the longest time. Sometimes people don't understand how close we are to our pets. They're forgiving, loving, protective, honorable creatures, and all they want is a pat on the head (or belly:) and a bite to eat. If we could only be more like our canine friends. Now I have another pack of dogs and I'd be devastated if I lost one. Remember the good times. Like how Slash use to get jealous of my Barbie dolls and chew their feet off:) It pissed me off back then but it's one of my funniest memories of him. I'm truly truly sorry for your loss. Hugs and love.
I'm really sorry about your doggie. I'd just die if I lost one of my boys. They're my kids. I hope you have lots of good photos. I made my friend an "In Memory" photo frame with dog bones and stuff when hers passed. Let me know if you'd like one. Thanks for always being a good friend too btw. I hope things start going your way. It sucks when it's one damn thing after another. Things will get better. They've got to right? Mad love to ya.
lol will do. my mom's been buggin me to make her a myspace account, so when i finally do, i'll have to add you for her. cuz you know she won't be able to do it herself haha.
