Music, music, music. Good books. Good radio. Political blogs. Delicious food. Saving the world through clever arguments. Dancing to the music. Interesting conversation. Feminism. Bunnies. People who are smart and aren't embarrassed by it. General deliciousness.
Music
I always forget to update this, so I'm sure these will stay up here forever, but...Los Campesinos, Peter, Bjorn, and John, Jolie Holland, Frisbie, Ulrich Schnauss, Camera Obscura, Black Kids, The Pipettes, Miou Miou, Goldfrapp, PJ Harvey, Brian Eno, the Soul Jazz Tropicalia comp (awesome!), The Go! Team (endlessly), Long Blondes, Ted Leo, CSS, Miss Alex White, Zapruder Point, Rio Baile Funk: Favela Booty Beats (also awesome), and always, always Big Star and the Beatles, the Velvet Underground, the Replacements, and R.E.M.
Movies
Film noir. Double Indemnity. The Thin Man series (with diminishing returns, though). Gone With the Wind (oh, the drama! oh, the majesty!), The Rules of the Game. High Fidelity, of course. Next Stop Wonderland. The House of Yes. The Darjeeling Limited, The Royal Tennenbaums and Rushmore, like everyone else. And yeah, some John Hughes, for growing up in the 80s and wishing I had had better taste in music then. And I'm always up for a great documentary.
Television
Veronica Mars (RIP). The Daily Show. Too damned much cable news (Countdown, Hardball, The Situation Room). Arrested Development (RIP). The Simpsons and Family Guy (oh Simpsons, don't be haters toward Family Guy!). 30 Rock. Desperate Housewives. The Office. Gilmore Girls (RIP). Are there no good shows left on TV anymore? And as for Pushing Daisies, do I like it? Please tell me. I'm just not sure.
Books
Umm...all of them? I read so many books, I cannot even remember what I like! Let's see...Marjane Satrapi's graphic novels, Adam Langer's two Chicago books (Crossing California and The Washington Story). The Historian, Alice (bio of Alice Roosevelt Longworth), The Wonder Spot, High Fidelity, Always Magic in the Air (the stories of the Brill Building songwriters), The Unoriginal Sinner and the Ice Cream God, many more. I've read two good radio books lately ("lately" meaning "in the last year or so"), Eric Klinenberg's 'Fighting for Air,' which looks at what consolidation hath wrought upon radio, as well as TV, free weeklies, and other media, and Marc Fisher's 'Something in the Air,' a history of the progression (and regression) of music radio from the origins of Top 40 to the present.
Heroes
I don't believe in heroes. I just believe in me. Etc.

"To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget." - Arundhati Roy
