EVELYN'S NEW CD COMMERCIAL!
EVELYN " CHAMPAGNE " KING
Born in Bronx New York, later moved to West Philadelphia, where she was raised and discovered then to New Jersey, now residing in California. Evelyn “says”, I will always remember where I come from. I always enjoyed all types of music, from Disco, Pop, Rock, Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Blues, Folk, you name it.
Evelyn continues to travel this continent in the US and abroad. She always seems to dazzle the audience with her vibrant personality, as well as her strong seductive voice. When she performances, “Wow” it always becomes exciting, energetic, and boy does she motivate her fans. On top of that, Her name demands respect within the industry, one that has remained prominent in the R&B, Soul, Dance Clubs and Pop arenas.
In her modest but confident demeanors, Evelyn marked her talent wisely collaborating with top Producer, songwriter, and guitarist, Theodore Life, whom was working at the time with Philly International Recording Artist(s). (T. Life) which is the man responsible for her success. Recall the discovery of Ms. King yes it's true, I was discovered while cleaning, at "Sigma Sound Studios” along with her mother Johnniea King, to be exact. All of a sudden I hear a male’s voice say one day I'm going to make you a star.
Thanks to T. Life for believing in me, and the songwriters John Fitch & Ruben Cross-for lighting up the vocals with the hit “SHAME”. I went from a young lady in a local band from South Philadelphia as “Tibby”, which was my name in the group to “Evelyn Champagne King”.
Evelyn also has a vast of famous producers along side her success, Kashif, Paul Lawrence Jones, Andre Cymone, Ron Kersey, Alex Brown, and luminaries such as Leon Sylvers III, Gene Dozier, Nayan, Ten City, Marshall Jefferson, David Cochran, and her talented youngest brother Johnny King who also participated in his sisters success. Of course Evelyn's had worked with plenty great producers / writers. These producers all lent a bright and fresh element to her work while she maintained the key element her voice.
Evelyn has given us over the years starting with her explosive entrance at sixteen with 1977' top crossover classic "Shame "of her Gold - Plus debut album Smooth Talk, this was a song no less than great, a catchy chorus that majestically ushered in a tap of the toe and a swing of the hips. Rolling out of the 70's into the 80's Evelyn without fail comes to the scene ready with the ground breaking single "I Don't Know If It's Right followed by a number 1 hit single " Love Come Down "I'm In Love.
Evelyn maintains a level head " It keeps me on top of things "she says Remembering family first, where you come from and who helped you stay true to yourself, and of course your audience which is very important to me " Evelyn has also lost a child in 1989, whom she has named after her mother, Johnniea " Champagne " King. Evelyn shares that I will sing to my baby always, she lives inside of my heart everyday.
Evelyn continues to work hard, in her spare time she writes songs along side her husband and confidant Freddie Fox who is also a great musician.
In 2006 Preston Glass not a stranger to the music Industry, has so many hits he's written for other Artist, Introduced Evelyn to an Independent label Big Day/ Jaggo Records, which signed Evelyn on to their Record Company. Preston, which is the Producer, songwriter will take on Evelyn's newest project. As well, she also is a co-writer with her husband Freddie Fox whom also is co-producer and writer arranger, along with the well-known poetic lyricist writer Tony Haynes. So as you can see I still have the determination to go on.

1 of the most effective "natural cures" ever documented (really) 4 depression...
Have them stand in front of a mirror...smile...bigger...no, even bigger...that's it...an honest to goodness ear 2 ear smile! Look at you...standing there...strong...powerful...nothing is impossible for you...no limitations...you are the earth...you are the sky...and they are you...now, laugh...bigger...one of those gut bursting, side hurting, deep belly laughs...that's it. :)
