About me:

Fashion is exciting, indulgent, inspiring, theatrical, exotic and daring! Fashion can be wildly unpractical, and I simply love to bring these impractical ideas into my everyday life! I design clothing for the modern woman. The TND woman loves color, texture and a little bit of street flair! If Alexander McQueen and Pat Benatar had a love child, SHE would be Tib Nelson Designs! Tib Nelson Designs derives from the maiden names of my two beautiful grandmothers, Gladys Nelson and Margie Tibadeao. This solo label takes cues from photographs of my perfectly coiffed Grandmother walking down the streets of Seattle in the 1940's, while incorporating my own love of costuming and original street style. My creative background began at a young age with musical theatre and classical dance training. I have always explored and experimented with fashion; however, it wasn't until I attended the University of Washington that I took my interest in fashion and garment construction seriously. Theatre and dance continue to influence my work by adding a touch of whimsy, movement and drama. All TND garments are one-of-a-kind and hand-made in my downtown San Diego design headquarters. Wearing TND ensures that you will never find yourself at a cocktail party sporting the same frilly frock as the bird across the room sipping her fruity Cosmo!
