Welcome! A few bumps in the road for me to get here, as I'm a myspace newbie.
Thanks for coming - I'm looking forward to the next generation of Invisible Band cyber-info! Check back often to see the changes in the page!
In the next few days, I'll be posting music, schedule, news, etc.
quick note about the schedule page!
Since individual band members' gigs will be advertised here, there is a notation before each gig. TIB=Invisible Band, KF=Kenny's gig, CW=Clay's gig and CP=Caroline's gig
We're already booked for the Fishery this summer and we'll be booking dates at the Changing Times Pub in Farmingdale, Meehan's in Huntington, and other new places.
FYI, This "Invisible Band" is in no way affiliated with any other Invisible Band. I'm aware of a few of them out there - one in the Northwest, as well as one in Texas. Some dude named Travis even named his album 'The Invisible Band'. That was after I named mine, back in 1999 ;-)
This Invisible Band is Kenny Friedman, Clay Washington and Caroline Purr.
Former members include Colleen McGrath and Danielle Landherr.
Again, welcome...and please check back soon for updates to this page!
thanks for stopping by!
~Kenny
Notes about the music I posted
I don't know where to give credit for the music, so i'll do it here...
The song you hear when you first open our page is something I wrote and recorded for a commercial. It has a nice positive vibe to it, so i used it for our front page song.
Next on the list are a few songs I re-arranged and recorded with Danielle Landherr, who was with the band for about 3 years. Danielle has many of her own songs posted here and she/they can be found at http://www.myspace.com/daniellelandherr
Closer to Fine, originally recorded by the Indigo Girls
I love the lyrics. i gave it a litte more of a Celtic feel and added some big guitars.
Criminal, originally recorded by Fiona Apple
The other band members wanted to do this song. I resisted until I had the idea to make it more of a heavy dirge. Lots of 7 string action on this one. It just feels skanky.
Son of a Preacher Man originally recorded by Dusty Springfield,br.
A crowd favorite! The original version is too short! I extended it and added the "KF Gospel Choir" in the background. That was a lot of fun to record.
