The story
begins in Amsterdam during 1998. Kevin Koradin left Slovenia for Amsterdam (Netherlands) where he was gathering experience as a studio musician and during that same period became friends with an incredible Danish drummer Mikkel Brink. They were soon joined by Kenji Hino, a well-known Japanese bass player, whose father is a famous jazz player Terumasa Hino. Kenji and Mikkel both played on Kevin's first demo tapes. Later that year, in Copenhagen, Kevin again met up with Mikkel, who had just finished his tour in Japan. A week of conversations and parties resulted in the making of a new band. In shortage of bass players, Mikkel and Kevin talked Matej Batelic into joining them and together they created a smashing trio. This was the official beginning of Tide.
Kevin soon recorded a few demo tapes and in the heart of the hurricane season together with Mikkel and Matej took off for South Florida (USA) where they performed live for a couple of months. After a short trip to New York they returned to Amsterdam to cut an album. Mikkel got homesick and returned to Denmark for good so the album was written, recorded and co produced by Kevin alongside producers Peer Rave and Matthisj van der Speck.
Kevin came back to Slovenia in 2005 where a new chapter for Tide began. After putting together a band for the purpose of performing live and after presenting the recordings which were brought by him from Amsterdam a record deal followed .
Kevin received an offer from CPZ Rec., and in 2005 released his first debut album “Seven Days” in September, which was later reprinted. Kevin's band quickly drew attention and became a new rising rock group in Slovenia.
Tide performed in practically all the clubs and important festivals in Slovenia, including Exit festival in Serbia in 2006. The first video “Release My Gun”, directed by Milos Radosavljevic and Tomi Horvat (Zavod AVK), frequently appeared on MTV Adria and was also included into the music charts World Chart Express – MTV Europe. It was very well received, but the second video “Evolution” did even better.
The tour with Siddharta and the video for the song “Brain Damage” proved once and for all that Tide is a big part of the Slovenian music scene. The promotion of the album “Seven Days” was concluded with Tide being the opening act for IRON MAIDEN at Ljubljana's Bezigrad stadium. During the fall of 2007 in Zagreb - Croatia, Tide was nominated by MTV for the New Sounds of Europe award.
The second album “Nothing to Lose” (CPZ Rec.) was again put together by Kevin who co-produced it with Peer Rave and was fully recorded in the Netherlands, same as Kevin's debut album “Seven Days” which he at the time recorded alone without a band. ''Nothing to Lose'' was recorded during the summer of 2007 in Markant Recording Studios close to Eindhoven.
Nothing to Lose spawned the first radio hits for the band including ''waiting for the rain'' and gave Tide the opportunity to perform even more; play bigger venues and festivals.
In December 2008 after the conclusion of the Nothing to Lose concert dates Kevin took a break and went to Amsterdam for almost 1 year where he wrote and recorded all the material for the latest album called Regeneration. Two new members joined the band right after that, Tine Cas on the guitar and Anze Zurbi on the drums. Regeneration is the most personal, mature, melodic and emotional album to date as well as more current in sound and genre compared to the classic rock oriented previous one.
