The Tides of Welcome Soul and Gospel Choir first sang together in 2003. Auspiced by the Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House, choir members come from the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria and regularly perform for local community events including the Queenscliff Music Festival and the Queenscliff Uniting Church Concert series.
The Tides of Welcome Soul and Gospel Choir can be quiet, soothing, gentle, like the lapping wavelets that caress the sands of Swan Bay; then wild, dangerous, irresistible like the powerful surf at Point Lonsdale.
As an open community choir we provide an opportunity for personal skill development and individual achievement through the collaborative exploration of a'cappella performance. The choir generates a collage of voices, as individuals of varying ability find a niche where they can sing their heart out. Choir Director, and musician in her own right, Sarah Carroll, produces inspired arrangements with unique harmonies; the combined commitment ensures each song is polished and delivered with soul. As a result, the choir is proud of its very distinctive sound.
The Tides of Welcome Soul and Gospel Choir create a respectful and friendly environment in which humour and good fun are highly valued and celebrate diversity and harmony through a shared passion for singing. We enjoy singing for the local community and beyond, as music unheard is like happiness unshared.
