About me:
I am a 33 year old married, mother of one. I work in the music industry part time and the corporate world part time.
I appreciate nice dreads and people who know that dreads take patience, time and dedication.
I am here to help teach you to properly maintain your dreads so you can spread that info on....
Everyone has different methods of dread lock maintenance. There is no ONE WAY to start and maintain dreadlocks. There is no school. Mostly its trial and error and doing what works for you. That's what I have been doing for 7 years is doing what works for me. This style may or may not work for you. All I can do is pass along what I know and hope it helps.
I like to palm roll and use the crochet method for my dreads. I prefer a thinner dread and keeping them as tidy as possible. Depending on the thickness of the hair I also will use root flipping as a way to tighten.
I do not do dread extensions. I only work in natural dreads at this point. I AM able to color dreads as well.
I have a routine I like to have my clients go through before doing maintenance, a full set or coloring. It included shampooing with a special shampoo that helps strip all the build up and reside out - and helps me work faster.
