Fue mi bisabuelo, José Ramírez de Galarreta y planell (1858-1923), quien inició esta aventura de guitarreros que ya va por su quinta generación. Aprendió el oficio de su maestro, Francisco González, en la madrileña Carrera de San Jerónimo. Tenía 12 años cuando empezó su aprendizaje, allá por 1870. Y fue en 1882, cuando se independizó y abrió su propio taller en el Rastro, para trasladarse en 1890 a Concepción Jerónima número 2, donde hemos continuado hasta 1995, año en que nos establecimos en la calle de la Paz 8.
It was my great grandfather, José Ramírez de Galarreta y planell (1858-1923), who started the adventure of making guitars, which is now in in its fifth generation. He learned from his master, Francisco González, from premises in Carrera de San Jerónimo in Madrid, starting his apprenticeship at the age of twelve, in 1870. In 1882, he opened his own workshop in the Rastro quarter. In 1890, he transferred the business to Concepción Jerónima 2, where it remained until 1995, when we moved to calle de la Paz 8.
