I think art should be open and free. even improvising is cool, as long as you still have some direction. AN elephant or a hampster that can paint isn't art. and even if your kid shows artistic talent Nurture it. (but don't ever think your kid is da'vinci!) Art can be a directed experience under physical real world requirements. It can be a job. It can be a hobbie. I'm an artist. I have roots in illustration but try to diversify myself to the extent of always keeping an open mind. there are a million ways to draw something. Some of my self directed art, is controversial. I may be a little bit different. See things from an odd perspective. I rejoice in it for it drives me to be more creative. I have some crazy ideas and artwork. my teachers hated the fact that I refused to leave black paint out of my art, even if it was very subtlely I used it. I still got good grades, reviews and critiques. People were just not used to it. I loved the way Black shimmered. held all colors or none, (even as a small kid). I'm not some emo or goth F***, I'm not really sadder than anyone else. I'm not anything really. I just like the color Black. I'm Just person who isn't afraid to be creative. Who want's to look into unimaginable things and say what if? And Why not?
I'm on a quest for knowlege and experience and expression. A person who feels compelled to open himself to the world. Person who tries to change the world using a brush or pencil, or marker, or a computer or a conversation. To evolve my abilities and myself. I look for new ideas or techniques, wherever I can find them. I guess 4 years of college sparked a hunger for knowledge never satisfied. I look at the world on so many levels, it staggers me how intricate and complex yet simple it can be. It can be ugly and beautiful at the same time as it's WOnderful and terrible. I have my views, and politics and facinations, and shortcomings, that you may or may not understand and/or agree with. (You don't have to, unless you want to.) I'm always willing to discuss anything and to try anything. if you don't like my current veiw, holler and tell me why I'm wrong. Debate is a beautiful act lost to this era. I may be hot and frantic at times, or cool and calm. I may be produductive or lazy. I may not always be aprime example of it always, but, I think you should feel good about your life. about your friends. about where you are headed and who you are. I always seem to be the wiseman of my group of friends. I spit advise even when it isn't wanted sometimes. I talk alot if you get me going. I have some goals. Even if noone sees that or understands all of them, I believe in them. (ANd yes asshole, I have goals.) Some people will tell you that they believe in this or that cause. or this or that god, or whatever else they can justify believing in. aside from anything else with no justifications... I believe in my own path, and my trials, and my journey. I believe I will find things I want and experience things I don't, but will not regret my losses nor my triumphs! I may have had a semi-troubled time or two in my life, but it makes me strong. Yea I break once in a while. and I bitch about things with almost asmuch zeal as I use fixing them. but I only fall down for a minute. only a moment or two. THen I drag my broken ass up and limp onwards, happy for the strength the pain gives.
I am what I am! I belive in what I belive! I go where I go! I'll do what I do! I'll say what I say! I fight for what I fight for! And do you want to know why? BECAUSE I AM WHO I AM! There's no stoping me! Try as you might. Kill me, I'll come back, or someone like me will take up where I left off. Try to silence me, and an enemy you've found. But trust me and belive in me and I will never cease to suprise you. I'm not a good guy, but I'm not a villian either. Lines cannot be so well defined.
