About me: Myspace Backgrounds
I teach psychology with an evolutionary lens at the State University of New York at New Paltz and am affiliated with EvoS -- the new Evolutionary Studies program there. I'm also the publisher/editor of Entelechy: Mind & Culture
: An online journal bridging the arts and humanities with science, particularly evolutionary theory; and the author of Trine Erotic
, a novel that's been used in various college courses nationwide. I'm currently working on a book (based on this essay
published at Metanexus in "The Golden Spiral" called "An Evolutionary Mind" (to be published as part of Imprint Academic's series: "Societas: Essays in Political and Cultural Criticism"). I plan to begin writing another novel soon.

Even in Black & White this picture of the explosion at Bikini Atoll displays a certain allure. See how the atom bomb blows surplus US Navy ships to smithereens. What a blast!
Ahhhh yes, this one is a real beauty and may be my favorite of these types of photographs. Ladies and Gentlmen, meet Dakota! Look at that color, that clear light & chaotic symetry which only seem to come from the most powerful release of energy.
They may be dangerous, but they are as beautiful as only the most dangerous man-made objects can be. Now that they exist thoughtful people will want to know how to protect themselves in the event somebody shoots them off in their neighborhood.
A family was having dinner on Mother's Day. For some reason the mother was unusually quiet.
Finally the husband asked what was wrong.
"Nothing," said the woman.
Not buying it, he asked again. "Seriously, what's wrong?"
"Do you really want to know? Well, I'll tell you. I have cooked and cleaned and fed the kids for 15 years and on Mother's Day, you don't even tell me so much as "Thank you."
"Why should I?" he said. "Not once in 15 years have I gotten a Father's Day gift."
