Tiki lovers from around the world descend upon an oasis historically known as the Hanalei Hotel (now Crowne Plaza) smack dab in the middle of urban San Diego. Thursday night! Only a short trek over to the San Diego Bay for the Tiki Oasis pre-party at the Bali Hai restaurant.
The festivities kickoff with a full night of fun-filled Voodoo entertainment including live music, dancers, and even a tiki fashion show.
Hotel guests can relax in the pool to the live music, enjoy a day of shopping in the marketplace, mingle with live Tiki carvers plying their trade in the Carver's Village, tote their tots over to the kiddie rec room, or expand their minds in educational symposiums.
As night falls on the Tiki Oasis, some of the not-so-fortunate vacationers from Friday's revelry may re-appear as the living dead - yes, ZOMBIES! Don't be alarmed, or attempt to light them on fire, they are only trying to have more fun by entering in the Zombie dress-up contest. Live music and dancing is followed by a late night zombie movie!
If you are still standing by the time Sunday morning rolls around you can relax with a stroll through Artist Alley, do more shopping, attend more symposiums, or join the uke jam next to the Koi Fishponds.
