Sounds Like
Megan Vaughan, Manchestermusic: "Tim and Sam make music for the entrance foyer of heaven."
ManchesterEveningNews: "The Manc oufit make music as snug as a warm winter blanket; all folk-drenched pastoral psychedelia with an extra sprinkling of ethereal wooziness."
The Guardian: Recommended new music. "Like listening to Sigur Rós, without the worry of deciphering Hopelandic."
Rock Sound: "Carefully crafted instrumental indie that twists and turns with folky wonder."
Clash Music: "Wonderfully Gonzales styled Balearic instrumental pop. Curious, longing, elegant, romantic, a Working For A Nuclear Free City sans the techno elements, Join The Dots is an emotive, resonant track that wouldn’t feel out of place on the first Café Del Mar album."
Cath Aubergine, Manchestermusic: "Tim and his real friends play lovely indie-flavoured melodic post-rock with gorgeous peals of acoustic guitars, a clarinet and a glockenspiel propped up on an ironing board. This seems, for some reason, quite important - in a genre where it sometimes seems bands are trying to out-pretentious each other they seem warm, organic and very down-to-earth."
XFM Manchester: "Ones to watch."
Planet Sound: "Blissed out folk in the manner of Tunng."
Peter Hook: "I'm enjoying the music very much!"
Stephen Fretwell: "You're amazing!"
James Yuill: "My favourite folk band."
Chris Long, BBC: "Tim and the Sam Band’s music speaks for itself. It’s luscious, delicious stuff - the sound of dreams siphoned into your speakers."
Mark Riley: "Wonderful pastoral music. A refreshing change."
Huw Stephens: "Beautiful."
Tom Robinson: "Deliciously hypnotic pastoral Steve Reichy instrumentals."
Marsha XFM: "Rousing, engaging and rather moving. The sort of band that gently create such a big warm noise, it almost feels odd that you can't see it."
Sam Walker, BBC Manchester: "Beautiful. Just divine."
Tom Ravenscroft, BBC 6Music: "There's a very good chance I've just fallen hopelessly in love with that record (Summer Solstice) and will listen to nothing else for the rest of the year."
Gideon Coe, BBC 6Music: "Really rather good."
Adam Walton, BBC Wales: "Tim and Sam haven't been far from my speakers all week... their music is a beautifully arranged and considered sanctuary from the storm outside. I love it."

Been listening to the Put Your Slippers On EP since it arrived in the post and I'll tell you something ... if you're not crying big fat tears of joy by the time Tim plays the little improvisations on the glockenspiel by the end of track 3, then my friend, you have no soul. Mike

I was one of the photographers on a music photography course run by pro-photographer Brian Sweeney. I loved your stuff, reminded me of Steve Reich's minimalist stuff - but more fun! And putting your glockenspiel on an ironing board - now that is cool!

Trespassers William (Seattle, US) are the duo of Matt Brown and Anna-Lynne Williams. "Subliminally sublime and pragmatically perfect, you would have to possess an ashtray for a heart not to feel this coursing through your soul" (DSD Music Magazine). A new EP, The Natural Order of Things, is due to be released on Gizeh Records in the upcoming months. They will make a special church performance with members of Glissando.
Glissando (Sheffield, UK) “have the kind of atmosphere that can captivate and relax in equal measure- never before has tranquillity sounded so urgent. While track lengths of over 10 minutes may fail to hold the attention of the ADHD sufferers among us, with patience it plays like a majestic dream. And it's one you'll never want to wake up from." NME
Operations (Chris Anderson) is a Manchester based conceptual music producer and sound artist. He performs and records with an array of analog synths and effects, reel-to-reel tape and casette players, and guitars. Followers of Tim Hecker, Slowdive, Fennesz, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Stephen O'Malley, Type and 12K Records will surely nod in approval.
Thnx so much for adding me. I've only been here a few days now and just uploaded some of my own stuff. Check it out if you can find the time. Would much appreciate your views.
Hello. I was watching an episode of Free Agents last night, and I hadn't seen it before, and I was trying to decide whether I thought the main girl was fit, when suddenly they played Put Your Slippers On! They cut it off before it got to the cool loud bit but I got excited all the same. Good work lads and lass, keep it up.
