We must look to the future of this district (Montgomery, Cheatham, and Houston Counties) and work to bring good job opportunities here for our young people and working families. The emerging technology jobs of the future will be attracted to places that take innovative approaches to meeting the needs of these enterprises. Government, labor and management can and should work together toward the mutually beneficial goal of a viable and sustainable local economy. I want to be a leader in this process so that my children and all the young people of this district will have the choice to remain here and take advantage of the new growth and opportunity. In this process of cultivating new opportunities we must always strive to make sure that the process is fair and inclusive and recognizes the dignity and equality of all of our citizens and not just the privileged few.
