Tim’s music is a combination of rock 'n roll, folk and southern rock with a writing style that is life-reflective and emotion-filled. He writes from place that he hopes will resonate with listeners, leaving them thinking that the music they just heard communicates what their own hearts wanted say.
“I write because music can communicate certain feelings and thoughts that spoken language simply cannot capture,” Tim says. “For me, music expresses exactly what you mean through song and gives this high that really can’t be put into words.”
Tim relates to performing much the same way. “There is an energy, excitement and emotion that remain dormant until I start singing and then it starts to slowly build up inside. When I finally hit that guitar solo, it finally all comes gushing out like water from a hose that has been pinched off until released at full force. There’s nothing else like it that I’ve experienced.”
Tim Bergstrom’s sound is quite eclectic and it is hard to reduce it down to one band or artist to compare him to. He draws musical inspiration from the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton and his writing influences include Ben Harper, Ray LaMontagne, and JET. The end result is evocative of the guitar-stylings of the John Mayer and The Black Crowes mixed with the feel-good, raw vocals of Matt Wertz, all combined with the lyrical emotion of the Wallflowers.
If there is a way to capture the drive and essence of Tim Bergstrom’s music, it is to say his music is his heart on his sleeve. He is inspired by what is honest – feelings and emotions that are both beautiful and terrible. Although he does not know what is on the horizon, he plans to begin touring, performing, and building a fan base that relates to what he has to offer. “I am really just waiting to see where God takes me. I’ve learned that you really can’t make your own plans because God changes them constantly,” Bergstrom notes. “Whatever his plan is – that will be the best one.”
