Music
As for music.... I enjoy the styles of old school 60's and 70's Rock, Soul - Stax and Chess, Motown, R&B, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Funk, and yes, Disco!! .... I wonder why nobody does that anymore?
I was influenced by what I would consider some really great bass players of my era - Dee Murray, James Jamerson, Bob Babbitt, Joe Osbourne, Duck Dunn, Paul McCartney, Jerry Scheff, Carol Kaye, Wilbur Bascomb, Chuck Rainey, Peter Cetera, Graham Maby, Nathan Watts, Larry Graham, John Paul Jones, John Deacon, Jaco Pastorius, Rocco Prestia, Jack Bruce, Jeff Berlin, and Geddy Lee.... to name a few....

Timothy Gaines - Pre order my debut solo album - "Breakfast At Timothy's" at TimothyGaines .com and receive a free autographed poster. Only $10.00!! view more
About me:
I am recording my first ever bass instrumental solo album entitled "Breakfast At Timothy's." This 12 song album is being recorded and produced by my good friend Chris Eddy (son of guitar legend Duane Eddy.) The music is geared more to the listener than the "muso"... it's pop rock music with the bass guitar playing the melody as opposed to a "licks" only type of record. Sound samples coming soon!
I am taking pre-orders of this album at my website TimothyGaines.com. Those who pre-order will receive the 12 song CD plus an autographed "Breakfast" promo poster at a one time world wide price of only $10.00 US including free s/h.
You may be asking why do I want to buy this pre order instead of waiting for the release in August? Well, #1 you get the CD shipped out first. #2 You get the free autographed poster. #3 You get all this for only $10.00 with free s/h. #4 You help me offset the high cost of paying for this project out of my own pocket. #5 If you don't pre order you don't get the poster, you pay a higher price for the disc, and you pay for s/h.
Thanks for looking,
TG

Short bio on Timothy Gaines
Timothy Gaines is probably best known as a founding member, bass player, and keyboardist of the 80’s Christian super group – Stryper.
Picking up the bass guitar in 1975, Timothy was soon a regular of the Hollywood club scene. After recommitting his life to Christ in 1983, Tim joined the Sweet brothers Robert and Michael, and guitarist Oz Fox in the band Roxx Regime. Signing with indie label Enigma Records in 1984 they soon changed their name to Stryper. Strypers success over a quarter century has been well documented in over 10 million in album sales, a Grammy nomination, and recipients of multiple Dove awards.
Apart from Stryper, Timothy has toured and performed with many fine artists such as Richard Marx, Ashley Cleveland, Kim Hill, Susan Ashton, Bryan Duncan, Tourniquet, and band Bostons own Kimberley Dahme to name a few.
Timothy is currently recording his first ever bass solo instrumental album entitled “Breakfast at Timothy’s.” With a planned release date of August ’09. More information about Timothy including “Breakfast” pre-orders can be found at his website – www.TimothyGaines.com.
Timothy will be joining Stryper this September 2009 for their 25 year anniversary world tour.
